So fuck whatever the actual title is. I have a downloaded version of the DsO album. It never hooked me so I never picked up a copy and listening to it this morning left me wondering: does the original, actual version have such long pauses at the end of the first Obombration and The Shrine of Mad Laughter? I'm talking like solid 30 seconds of no sound that are just super awkward and ruin the listening for me.

I was just listening to it on a short vacation I was on, and no, I believe not, there are no pauses. I'm very excited about the new EP, however. I preordered it a while ago from Season of Mist!

New EP? And no, definitely no pauses.

Called Drought, out soon.

That's great news :dio: the Kenose ep is legendary.

This band is fascinating in every possible way.

That full length is not a favorite. Generally prefer their EPs.

Fas - Ite, Maledicti, In Ignem Aeternam (I think I got it down right) is my third favourite of theirs, after Kenose and Paracletus. Tracks like Bread of Bitterness and A Chore for the Lost hold some of their bests moments, but there's a bit too much fodder beside these.

I'm really enjoying this album, but I'm still getting breaks of silence and I could imagine them serving a purpose, but I just want them to get back to the awesomeness. Having listened to everything post-2004 minus two splits (I have the Diabolus Absconditus one), I want to say all of those are fucking amazing and that these guys are one of my favorite BM bands. So fucking good. So creative and so intriguing in terms of sound. There is something so aesthetically intriguing and complex that I find it to be an intellectually stimulating venture to listen to them.

Intellectually stimulating. Most definitely! The main reason this band, Akercocke, and Absu, are among my favourite bands (not that the other two bands can be directly related to DsO). Their lyrical content is probably the most mind-tingling lyrics ever produced in the history of Metal.
