Post subject:  Favorite ambient instrumentals in black/thrash/death

Before the inevitable intensity of a black/thrash/death album, there are always a few interludes to vary an album up. What are some of your favorite ambient, acoustic, or noise sections that set the stage for your favorite albums. If they are entire ambient songs, how do they bode well with the other songs on the album.

That "AAGATUUUS DAIIIMOON" part at the beginning and end of A Blaze in the Northern sky. It's fucking creepy.

Any and all of the ambient pieces Wrest has put in Leviathan.

'Still Waters Shall Remain Their Tombs' at the end of Krieg's Destruction Ritual.

There's an organ piece towards the end of Osculum Infame's 'Dor Nu Faulgith' I quite like.

His music didn't allegedly rape anyone and tattoo their genitals. Except maybe that song History of Rape.

At the Gates - Into the Dead Sky : love this one, added it to the in-game playlist of Fallout 3. For some reason I find it fitting really well in the post-apocalyptic landscape.

Bal-Sagoth - The Fallen Kingdoms of the Abyssal Plain : yeah I know, it's mostly electronic music, but it's also my favorite track of the album.

It is strange that you mentioned "At the Gates" without mentioning "The Flames of the End"...astonishing track

Off the top of my head:

Emperor - Opus a satana (not sure if this counts but hey, it's an awesome track), Alsvartr
Darkthrone - Sno og Granskog
Burzum - Tomhet
Aeternus - Under the Blade of the Dead
Dissection - No Dreams Breed in Breathless Sleep

Oh! and Kathaarian just reminded me of the intro to Kathaarian Lifecode and the Agathos Daemon chant thing at the end of Pagan Winter.

Also brought to mind Necromantia - Last Song for Valdezie
