My opinion, Santolla and Asheim are the last good musicians in the band, the song is tepid at best with the guitar tone sounding completely emasculated and Benton sucking as he always does with his vocals. Overall, I imagined it to be a lot worse, but it seems like just filler.

I quite enjoyed it actually. Nothing exceptional obviously, but definitely decent. It sounds a bit too clean though.

It's not that his vocals suck. They're just always too fucking loud.

Jesus, Steve, this is a great song - agreed with Milan that it sounds a bit clean, however.

It's not a 'great' song it's merely ok, I would rate it higher if they tuned out Benton, had Santolla throw in some solos, and gave the guitar tone the same flare they had on Stench of redemption. In any event, they can't get any lower than they have in the past, they suck but they really can't sink to anything lower than Scars of the crucifix.

Wut. In Torment In Hell? Insineratehymn? Both much worse than the actually not so terrible SOTC.

The production kills this for me. Could have fooled me that this wasn't some modern day deathcore band. In all honesty though I've never really cared for Deicide.

The only good Deicide is Legion, Deicide and The Stench of Redemption.

This is a cool song.. Looking forward to the new album, even if it sounds like it's gonna be a bit too polished.

Production is bad and Benton at least is just killing this band instead of Vital Remains too with his vocals. But the track itself is fine.

Serpents Of The Light? You people worry me sometimes.

Serpents of the light is a great album.

Deicide are one of those bands that everyone loves to bash so much, they forget that they are Death Metal legends with more solid albums behind them than most others.

On the contrary their first two albums are spectacular slabs of old school death metal, are they legends yes but compared to other Florida acts much like Obituary they fall short. Legion is still one of my favorite dm records, but comparing them to a lot of what was going on whether it be older Vital Remains, Acheron, Morbid Angel they fall short immensely.

Eh? You would put them next to Death, or Immolation, or .....well you get my point? I wouldn't even put them in a top 50, let alone top 10. Maybe thats just me though.

pretty much every death metal band has had their share of shitty albums. Morbid Angel has had their bullshit like Heretic and Gateways to Annihilation, Deicide theirs, Obituary has put out some boring bullshit to.

But you obviously can't deny morbid angel because of their classics like altars and covenant.

Didn't really say that though, did I? But I would say Deicide are a more legendary Death Metal band than Immolation at least, sure. They had/have a higher profile, for one. In terms of overall quality, sure, Death beats Deicide, but we can have more than one legendary death metal band. Haven't listened to as much Immolation as I have Deicide, so I can't answer that comparison.

I liked it. The production seems just fine cos I don't mind clean production. I didn't fancy Deicide initially, but started liking them a little later. Barring Insineratehymn I like all their albums, their s/t being one of my all time favs. Haven't listened to In Torment In Hell.
