I love Pig Destroyer. I call Pig Destroyer grindcore. Talking to friends in the hardcore scene and calling PD grindcore led to a bunch of whoas and I don't know, it's not the same thing blah blah. We were talking about bands like Terrorizer, Gridlink, Discordance Axis, Machetazo and apparently god forbid I mention Pig Destroyer. I know Hull incorporates a lot of death and thrash riffs into PD but was it really a big deal or am I missing something? Are hardcore punks just weird about PD? That vid was sick. And they're definitely grindcore. Sure, there are some other influences on Phantom Limb, but still. |

They're more likely elitists than ignorant. I just feel like Terrifyer is the best grindcore album and if it wasn't grindcore I feel like my knowledge of grindcore would have to be thrown out the window. |
