This is one of my favorite Kreator records. Yeah it is slower and more melodic than most of their other works, but why do you think this made it maligned compared to their other albums? This is an underrated album. Am I crazy for putting it in my top 3 for Kreator?

I could never really get into it. There are a few songs that I enjoy, but as I sit here and type this I cant think of what they are. I like Enemy of God (to an extent) and Hordes of Chaos, but Violent Revolution is just too melodic and not thrashy enough.

Hordes of Chaos may be pretty hit or miss with most people, but at least it thrashes.

I like it very much. I like the "experimental" stuff I've heard by them too.

I think maybe fans expect too much sometimes as far as the way a band sounds and writes.

I've never been a Kreator fan, but I do enjoy it. It might not be as good as Enemy of God, but it's definitely not too far behind either.

You're certainly not crazy sir. A good album overall. Not quite groundbreaking, but decent nonetheless

Anyway, anyone heard if they're hitting the studio anytime soon?

Between VR and EOG were four years, and between EOG and HOC too, so....

I think Violent Revolution was so great because it is. :) Great songs, great sound, and it was thrash again, after the more experimental Endorama. But there were just only killers like "Reconquering the Throne" or "Violent Revolution" or "Replicas of Life" or "Bitter Sweet Revenge".

Yes, Pleasure to kills everything after and before, BUT IMO the last three albums are killing nearly almost everything (or anything?) else.

I love this album, too. Bittersweet Revenge is freaking awesome!

So I find it safe to say that the consensus here is that the reviewer scored this album way too low.

As for their new albums:

Hordes Of Chaos > Enemy Of God > Violent Revolution

VR was a good album and it was a good return to form after Endorama.

It's only got better since.

Love this one. I'm listening to it right now and I just wanted to share it with you guys. It was one of the first thrash albums I bought, so it has a nostalgic value for me you could say. I remember not liking it much at first. Fuck me I was stupid.
Replicas Of Life is one monster of a song and my favorite here. That part:
Die in pain, die in pain
Live in fear and die in pain

is bleak and :D at the same time.
