I can't stand when bands take forever and a day to release an album they announced years ago. It's like when they play a movie trailer at the theater like: Spiderman 4, December, 2016. When is this upcoming album supposed to come out???

Holy Crap... They just started recording in June??? This is so annoying. Anyways, I hope it's worth the wait.

Hopefully it's better than Heretic.

Well Heretic was bad. Domination was pretty mediocre. Everything else has been good or better, IMO.

Kinda thought this thread was lame for that reason.

It's worth getting a bit excited, I think. They are one of Death Metal's biggest bands, and I'm certainly optimistic that they'll come up with something more interesting than Heretic.

Well, the last interview of Trey's that I read of, he was speaking about love and stuff. So maybe we'll get a ballad from them or an album of love songs?

Morbid Angel is a group of Tampa, Florida, USA assembled in 1984 based on death metal. They, along with Deicide, Death, Possessed, Suffocation, Obituary, slaughter, and a handful of others were crucial in the development of death metal genre and its standards. Their songs are complex in arrangement, with considerable expertise, both the guitarist and drummer Pete Sandoval Trey Azagthoth.

Youtubing this band in longing expectation for a new album.

Wacken 2006's performance/video of 'God of Emptiness' was excellent.

They really lost me after Domination.

Gateways To Annihilation was dull and muddy while Heretic was an awful abortion of an album that I struggled to give away it was that bad.

I was listening to Maze of Torment the other day, and I was like "Fuck, these guys were ahead of their time". I would have to say quite possibly the first real death metal band, aside from the earlier "Death"/thrash acts that are up for debate.

Maze of Torment is my favorite track of Altars of Madness. Surrounded by other highlights ofcourse.
