The Australian bm scene is a metal scene worthing checking out, though the largest of them is arguably Destroyer 666. Melding the spirit of Venom with a death/thrash sound, Unchain the wolves is a cult classic of wild-eyed insane thrash. Who here is a fan of the band though I've only seen them brought up a bit, what is your opinion on the entirety of the Aussie bm scene?

Destroyer 666 is an excellent band. I yet have to get their first album "Unchain The Wolves" but their whole discography is very, very good. I Am The Wargod is a thrash masterpiece. I am not a big Thrash fan by any means but these guys do it so well one automatically becomes a fan. Great stuff.

The Aussie bm scene has a few good bands besides D666 like Drowning the Light, Elysian Blaze, Pestilential Shadows, Moon, Nazxul, Orrery, Ruins, Wardaemonic, Gospel of the Horns, Midnight Odyssey.

And frankly, Australians steal all good things from New Zealand, so I'll mention Vassafor, Diocletian and Creeping from NZ :P

I'd have to say the top 3 Aussie bm releases for me are Nazxul - Totem, Orrery - Nine Odes to Oblivion and Elysian Blaze - Cold Walls and Apparitions.

What's up with Ruins? They must be due a new full-length, no?

Last year I took a 2500 kilometers round trip to see D666. It was worth every second I spent on the road. One of the best bands of the third millennium.

Plenty of quality bands in Australia. Trench Hell and Assaulter are two newer names I especially like.
