After listening to some of Two Hunters today I understood why some of the "hype", regarding the band is at least partially credible. While they may not be saviours of the black metal genre, they nonetheless do a good job of introducing foreign elements into the black metal sound. What do you think of their music from their first album until now, and do you think they've had an effect largely on USBM?

Love it all. Like the first two the best but Cascade is still solid.

They're the least diverse of the new USBM wave but they do it right. A solid Weakling influence which you need to check out if you haven't, steve.

I don't think they're that in anything other than what they once said in an interview to stop people thinking they were nazis. Of course, I hope you show proper balance by not supporting white power-linked bands either.

Their credibility in my personal opinion took a massive hit when I saw them live. After two songs the vocalist/guitarist tersely thanked the audience and left, only to return after the drummer talked into him for ten minutes. Emo fag.

Why? Who ever said anything about black metal having to be balanced? Should punk listening have to be balanced between the leftist majority and the skinheads?

Punk can generally lean left, black metal can generally lean right (unless you are trapt of course ), and there is balance throughout the world!

As to this band, I'm giving their early stuff a proper listen. I'm already biased against them for a number of reasons, but if it is good; it is good.

The one black metal band I would never give even a chance to is those lying morons, Velvet Cacoon.

I was being sarcastic; not listening to BM for ideological reasons is of course down to you, but it always seems slightly daft to me. And why should lying about anything stop the Velvet Cocks from gaining your eartime? Lying is totally Black Metal.

I like how this is exactly what my last editorial was about and only two people got it.

Why the hatred towards antifa?

I'm siding with noodz on the leftist bit. Off the top of my head, Panopticon is anarchist and sick, cascadian stuff is also pretty fucking awesome and leftist and the few commie ones I've heard aren't too bad.

It is an annoyance that when we speak about this band, they're political leanings is the sole source of the conversation. If you don't support them on this alone, then that is fine as your are entitled to this, yet I could care less what the band believes. Do you think it is a misnomer to call the atmospheric chords used in the atmospheric moments of Two hunters "post rock"

Post-rocky is the sort of thing I say when writing reviews. It's certainly an in-floo-unce.

I agree with Steve. Months ago someone posted a poll on whether the forumites listen to NSBM or not. While, I don't have any sort of facist beliefs, I do find a number of NSBM bands to be good. Why can't we just talk about how fantastic yet simplistic WITTR is instead of who and what they back politically.

I don't care if they hug a tree or kill a generation, I think their music is great and I'll listen to it no matter what.

That being said, Two Hunters is my favorite. Vastness and Sorrow is a masterpiece.

See, American black metal tends to lean left. You and (I think Noods) aren't familiar with a lot of the Eastern Europe stuff, which generally is harmlessly right, but also veers to a more militant right. Drudkh, whom I know you like, is a rightist (though not militant) band.

I'm not sure what I was originally disagreeing with Zad about...oh, I don't think 'balance' and 'black metal listening' need to remotely coincide. I really like Altar of Plagues, for example, and they lean left, so maybe I had no point at all.

But he was being sarcastic anyway.

Why did I hate Velvet Cacoon before anyway? Oh, Misha loved them back when he went through his reawakening. That pissed me off. Oh and I tried Geneive (or whatever it was called) and I thought it sucked.

I found out them being a bunch of liars only after the fact, though it did add to my smug satisfaction.

I enjoy their music. Not like one of my top black metal bands but I enjoy their albums and they get played fairly often.
