These albums were released around the same time earlier this year, and the connections are rife. What is your favourite of the two?
Myself, I'm less impressed with Les Discrets than with Alcest. Septembre seems much less varied in comparison, and it fails to truly captivate me much in the same way Katatonia does. The vocals are just bearable, but unfortunately they are too prominent and too prolific.
Écailles is fantastic, but somehow a bit too short... It feels like it's over in an instant. A sign of a great album?
In short: I vote Alcest.
