Atilla from Mayhem, his shit adds a different sound, and makes it interesting but it's not the bee's knee's on bm vocal performances. What makes DMDS is the drums and riffs anyways, and ad chao wasn't that good, chimera was better.

agreed on all of those as well.

king diamond makes mercyful fate worse if you ask me, sometimes his vocals are cool, but they would sound better with a more aggressive vocalist, sometimes king diamond just sounds wack.

How I feel about king diamond. Mercyful Fate would be better with a different vocalist.

Yeah, or just someone whose falsetto isn't thin as a piece of paper.

Lord Worm is def overrated. And I used to like Garm a lot but he's kinda meh.

How on earth are Lord Worm and Garm overrated? Tell me two people who could fill in better for Cryptopsy and Ulver.

This whole thread is a torrent of facepalming so far.

King Diamond? Overrated? What a load, man. I mean, opinions are all well and good, but you're on crack if you think he's overrated.

He's personally one of my favorite vocalists, and I love his lyrics. All his albums are great stories, and a few in particular stand out to me like Them and House of God. They're really unique, and mostly thanks to King Diamond.

And Mercyful Fate had a pretty sizable impact on the metal community, thanks to KD.

Overrated by who? Honestly. lol.

I really can't think of anyone who gets a lot of cred that I don't like. Maybe Lord Worm? I guess. I liked Cryptopsy's other vocalist, and the two albums he was on, more so than the rest of their discography.

Generic death metal vocalist #1154 would work fine with Cryptopsy and probably make them better than Lord Worm's growling (most of them can manage more than one sound). Someone who can sing with emotion and write good melodies would be a good replacement for Garm.

Lord Worm is better than pretty much any other DM vocalist out there, and to insinuate that he can only make one sound is a serious "what the hell are you smoking" sort of statement.

And Lord Worm can. The very reason None So Vile is so brutal and spinechillingly intense is because of him, something generic DM vocalist number whatever would fail to provide.

Garm can't sing with emotion or write good melodies?! Bloody hell, have you heard Bergtatt or Shadows Of The Sun?

Everyone's talking bollocks. I should just delete it and pretend it never happened.

I listened to a song from None So Vile again and all I heard was gruhgruh gruh gruh gruuuuuuuuh and a short higher pitched scream. I heard Shadows of the Sun a bunch of times trying to like it but it ended up being pretty dull :(

srsly, noodles, just listen to Crown Of Horns and tell me he can only make one sound.

Most DM vocalists wish they could make that sound at 3:10
