I will not download it, waiting for my pre-order.

But if anybody else downloads it, they could share their thoughts...

early impressions from other people are saying 2 things: it shits all over Death Magnetic and it's their best since RiP.

The latter is true, the former is not.

I listened to it and I don't think it shits all over Death Magnetic. Both albums are very different. It's too early to say which is better but one thing's for sure, those looking for an all-thrash Megadeth album will be disappointed.

I haven't expected an all thrash Megadeth album in about 17 years.

I just want something better than UA

Pretty much seems to be the general consensus.

I downloaded this last night. Gotta admit, it's pretty badass. I've found their "comeback" to be rather unimpressive over the last few albums—though I do like them—so this new one is very welcome.

It won't please those looking for another Rust In Peace, but they will never be pleased. If Megadeth never released Rust In Peace until 2009, people would still not be very impressed. The classics are considered so because they were new and fresh and the listener felt like they were discovering something special. You can't really wow listeners anymore. So always looking for that album that hearkens back to the greats of the 80s or whatever is pretty pointless.

That said, Endgame is fantastic. Definitely one of their best. Their best still being Youthanasia. =)

I can't understand why they wait MONTHS to release an album when it's already done?!?!?! At least the leak is not so early like TSHF which was 6 weeks or so out before the actual release.

Record label nonsense, no doubt.

I agree with the classics sentiment. Its a shame when people cant enjoy something else because they wont let go or realize that.I'm kind of scared to listen to this because I'm not a fan of Mustain's voice, especially after UA.Any difference or improvements?

And then they complain about the donwnloading of the albums...

I'd like to know if there is a connection between the number of downloads and the time between recording (or: Leak date) and releasing of an album.

Do you have ANY idea how the machine works? You can't just finish an album and then release it. All kinds of things have to happen first, from setting up marketing to distro contracts to CD manufacturing, and so on. It takes time.

And labels have every right to complain about people illegally downloading. It's fucking stealing!

No it's not.

It's copyright infringement. If you're going to argue about this, use the correct terminology.

Anyway, to not create a complete shitstorm about downloading, I'll get back on the topic.

Megadeath? Megameh...

.:crast:.

I enjoyed it thoroughly, and I haven't listened to Death Magnetic, and I never will, so I can't make any comparisons. I have no doubt it shits all over it, though. Megadeth is pretty good at doing that to Metallica.

It's a solid album, I'll be buying it when it's released. I did like UA quite a bit, but this is a step up.

Xinen, Mustaine's voice is the new Mustaine voice... I guess I don't know how else to explain it. It's not as good as it used to be, but it still does the trick.

And Youthanasia is an awesome album.

Youthanasia is good but suggesting it's Megadeth's best makes me quiver with rage at the sheer craziness of it

:P
