I started writing some stuff whilst in Germany, as I am sure the others have too, so we are going to try to get back into the studio before 2009.

We are still making a lot of great improvements around here at all-things-mega, and now that we are back home, a lot of the neat stuff we picked up along the way will be sent to the official MEGADETH eBay store, and I even think that Glen Drover is going to have one of his axes for auction soon.

so yeah...it's a little old, but new Megadeth could be good. Hopefully better than Death Magnetic. :P :dio:

hm, UA wasn't that great... hopefully this next one will be better. It had good tracks but not much longevity. I'm hardly going back and putting it on much anymore, not even as much as I still put on Countdown.

So true. UA had several awesome songs but a lot of so-so ones.

Even if that be true, it's still better than DM.

what's so bad about DM? Thinking about it now, I'd rather put that on than UA. I'm not going to put either on, but still...

At least Death Magnetic was fun, as opposed to the self-important GOP crumb sucking stupidity of United Abominations. Plus the standout Drover brother is gone, and he was one of the highlights of UA.

UA was a disappointment for me, DM on the other hand was a pleasant surprise.

AT LEAST Dave can write songs, as opposed to sets of riffs that drag on and bloody on for ten minutes a time. Plus; Metallica lyrics - better than Megadeth lyrics? I think not.

Considering Obama is in and Bush is out, the lyrics on UA are only going to look more dated and silly with each passing day. They are already frimly rooted into the American mindset of two to four years ago, and are aging like moldy socks.

Yes yes yes !!! Mustaine's tabloid approach to writing lyrics is good for a week. Metallica knows better than that.

Both write pretty damn bad lyrics, but I must admit that Megadeth is less awful in terms of poetry.

Lyrics smyrics

Megadeth is better than Metallica.

I don't know what I like better, Death Magnetic or United Abominations. But I do hope that new Megadeth is better than Death Magnetic.

At least Megadeth doesn't take 10 years between every album nowadays.

Oh, come on. Compare:

Metallica wrote:
The light that is not light is here
To flush you out with your own fear
You hide, you hide but will be found
Release your grip without a sound

Megadeth wrote:
I should be calling collect from jail
For the things I commit each night in my head
Like last night in my sleep I got to snuff you
But then I woke up again safe in my little bed

Metallica have clearly sat there chewing a pen, trying to think of rhyming words. At least Mustaine is telling a story and using metaphors and shit. Plus, Sleepworker alone is better than any song on DM.

I will say that I like Sleepwalker better than anything that Metallica has done since ...And Justice For All.

Hopefully this one will have more than three good songs. I can hope...

And both Metallica and Megadeth have become awful at writing lyrics. Way too much acid in the 90s for the both of them.
