I just want to mention some very good albums that didn't made it in my Top 5: Trivium - Shogun, Tankard - Thirst, Cavalera Conspiracy - Inflikted, Destruction - Devolution, Toxic Holocaust - An Overdose of Death, Bullet For My Valentine - Scream Aim Fire. And I think 2008 was an awesome Thrash Metal year. |

So, by the way, everyone needs to check out Torture Squad's new album, Hellbound, because it's awesome, and a definite contender for thrash album of the year. And there have to be some folks hear who have heard their album Pandemonium and know how awesome this band is. |

I liked Pandemonium, but I don't think it was truely awesome. I guess I need to hear it again, but the first time I listened it was just another album. To me anyway... I'll give the new one a listen soon. |

Diablo=thrash or death ? I'm for thrash. Also, can I put the new Kreator in my thrash list even if the release date is next month ? |

I'd say no. Let it be your number 1 for 2009. I am pretty damn sure it will be my number 1. But if Slayer can do another 8 or 9 songs like Psycopathy Red, then Kreator will have some competition. |

Jus' wondering, would we just place any grindcore under death metal? Rotten Sound's Cycles has a place in my top albums of the year and I wasn't sure where to put it. |

Well, Rotten Sound have a fair bit of Death Metal in their sound, don't they? Unless it's the truly mentalist avant-garde grind, I think it should go under Death. |

Yeah fair enough, most modern grindcore seems to incorporate death metal tones into their music anyway now that I think about it ![]() Thanks for clearing it up. |

And it's not avant garde or something strange. If you would listen to it, you would recognize, that Scream Aim Fire is 80% Bay Area Thrash Metal. |
