So lately I've been listening to super brootal yet super melodic stuff like Nefastus Dies and The Black Dahlia Murder. Any recommendations on this front?

How's Static X treating you?

I'd check out Benighted, super brutal, my good man. Get Icon or Identisick.

It's so cute because I don't consider Nefastus Dies or Black Dahlia to be at all brutal in the way that everyone else is mentioning.

That joke is so last week. Who are you, by the way?

Just to be fair, I haven't heard nearly every band mentioned in this thread.

Which says so much about -core bands because they are the cream of the crop.

And what about grindcore bands? because they technically are -core bands, if we are going by genre terms here.

I've seen a tendency of members here to leave the -core off of grindcore when discussing it.

Grindcore is not very cool..

Hardcore may be the only -core genre I appreciate to some extent. I'm realkly picky though.

I had the opportunity to buy And then youll beg by Cryptopsy but i didn't did I miss anything?
I wouldn't recommend Nile with the exception of one album.

Some good bands to start off with are:Through the eyes of the dead, Atheist(the only tech death youll ever need), Decrepit Birth, for Abigail Williams )Limbonic Art, Lux Occulta, Anorexia Nervosa, and to replace the boring Nile recommendation , God dethroned.

I leave the core off of grindcore usually. I think they are two distinct genres though.

AW is like blackened or symphonic deathcore, not really black metal.
