I guess this is a Poll.. I personally think that Matthew "Chalky" Chalk's performance on Psycroptic's "The Scepter Of The Ancients" is the sickest, most interesting and down-right brutal display of glutteral acrobatics ever! What do you guys think? |

!T.O.O.H! - Order and Punishment (if that even counts as death metal vocals) if not, then Dismember - Indecent & Obscene SKINFAAATHERRRRRRRRRRR. just that extra bit of dynamics that his vocals on Like An Everflowing Stream didn't have, while still having the psychotic aggression that their later albums don't have. |

Peter Tagtgren in Bloodbath - nightmares. It was simply the best. Glen Benton in Vital Remains - dechristianize comes in a close second. |

Jörgen Sandström - Grave/Project Hate - This man has some sick fucking vocals. Crisp clear and downright brutal. Dan Swanö - Edge of Sanity(Crimson in particular) - Best album ever, naturally has some of the best growls ever. (Mikael Åkerfelts growl contribution on this one is quite sick too) Glen Benton - Dechristianize - Not quite as clear as I like it, but still damn good. Jason Mendonça - Akercocke - Words that go unspoken, Deeds that go undone Peter Tägtgren/Mikael Åkerfelt - Bloodbath .:crast:. |

What do you guys think? Yes, and agreed with everything so far, but my personal favourite is from a little-known English band called Corpsing, "Watching The Thinker". Still, it's amazing how growly Akerfelt can be when he wants. That new Bloodbath EP is ![]() ![]() |

Nobody beats John Tardy's gut-wrenching, hair-raising style so wonderfully portrayed on Cause of Death! ![]() ![]() |

Luke Lemay's vocals on Gorguts' Obscura are something to behold, maybe my favourite DM vocal performance. Also Mikael Akerfeldt has got better over the years and has become a favourite, plus John Tardy. |

There are only two contenders: Glen Benton on the Deicide s/t John Tardy on Obituary-Slowly we Rot Although tbh it's the Deicide, best display of how dm vocals where supposed to sound, period. |

Oh yes indeedy, the vocals on Obscura are some of the most intense, dreary, unique and captivating growls I've heard. Åkerfeldt is the pwnage too. Two more: Dave Cunt, or VITRIOL or whatever his name is, on any random Anaal Nathrakh album. Quite amazing how he goes from screams to gurgles to deep growls. And a controversial one: Devin Townsend on "Oh My Fucking God". Mind-blowingly fast, varied and with some sick, sick yowling. |

That part where he spits out that long string of lyrics amuses me to no end. |
