Anyone get a hold of this yet by chance? I've been listening to it a bit and finally am going to be able to listen to the whole album tonight and I really like what I'm hearing.

I've been a fan of the band since Symmetric in Design and also love Pitch Black Progress... Scar Symmetry has definitely done something different with this album to set it apart from the two previous albums but have done so in a very awesome way and still have kept the elements that we love from the band.

It's a sick album from what I've heard... Anyone else dig it?

I listened to it, it sounds very polished, and there are some very cool solos... My only problem is that it is too long for this type of music.

lol. Probably not as hard as me. That's what I get for making topics when I'm really stoned late at night.

Solid album, but I expected nothing less. It's good they continue to develop their sound, making a slightly different album each time. I think the melodies aren't as forward like on previous albums and the songs have more lasting power, which to me shows some maturity in the songwriting compared to the debut.

Killer songs: The Missing Coordinates, Fear Catalyst, Ghost Prototype II.

I must agree. If you check out their myspace they said they wanted to try something different this time around and were really pleased... It still has the core SS elements I love but it's a very diverse album with definite staying power.

It's working on taking over Pitch Black Progress as my favorite album by them. It's just awesome.

Great album, but I keep thinking that there may be a little too much clean vocals for something that is constantly called ''Melodic Death Metal'' to some extent.

Don't get me wrong, I do love this album.

I think that's the point of the album. They wanted to do something different and sort of evolve as a band and they've done that. I think they definitely can't just be stuck with the melodeath label any longer.

Alvestam's vocals are off the chain on this album though. The guy has great range and sick growls.
