I know I completely ripped off the style of the thread.

I've been listening to this recently and I have to say that I'm stuck in-between, it has it's moments (such as parts of The Excorcist) but overall I just don't find myself wanting to listen to it. The fact that I like evil thrash and death metal means that I'm having trouble comprehending this, and even the anthem track Death Metal doesn't seem to do it for me. That said, I don't dislike the album, I just don't find it to be great-perhaps I need more listens.

I thought 'this is a bit odd for Seinfeld, isn't it?' at first.

Heard samples, never did it for me, but like most early extreme metal I'll have to listen lots before I dig it. Might buy it, actually, putting an Amazon order together atm.

Inspirational, of course. But worth including in my collection? No.

So for that reason, it's a miss.

I'd just like to say that Scream Bloody Gore is a fucking masterpiece so I thought I'd like this more. I listened some more this morning but I still have trouble truly enjoying it, strange-Death Metal's lyrics are class though.

I've only heard The Exorcist and Death Metal, but judging from those 2 tracks, it's really damn good.

Man I have never heard so many people bad mouth this album. It is an awesome classic of an album.

The ones who voted miss must be listening to Beyond the Gates...

We are, I assure you. I'd just rather be listening to a different death metal album, is all.

There are some other really good death Metal albums to listen to I know, but to vote this a miss? Come on. it is a classic.

Where is my support? I feel alone.

The fact that something's a classic doesn't necessarily mean you have to like it. I don't really like Ride The Lightning much, even though it's considered a classic.

As for Seven Churches, I've never really listened to it before. So I can't comment.

Funny you mention RTL, I was talking to Mintrude about it the other day. I started listening to it to do a Classic, but realised halfway through how completely and utterly boring it was.

Well, the first side is awesome, but it goes downhill quite radpidly from there.
