I think this new song kicks some major ass!! It sound a lot darker and heavier and dare i say it, death metal than GR. I can't wait till Watershed gets released. Hmmmm it does sound alright but I still need to listen to it with better quality recording to judge it. Personally even though I thought GR was a pretty decent album it wasnt on my personal top 5 Opeth albums (and could have been their weakest IMO). I think Opeth are best when they keep it down a bit. Not that I hate death metal, but I think thats when they become most creative. |

Stupid audience, shouting like twats. Sounds great, more aggressive than GR which could feel a bit flat at times. The new guitarist seems a bit more extrovert than Peter Lindgren, so maybe he will have an effect comparable to Ralph Santolla on Obituary and Deicide. ie, injecting a whole new sense of shredding energy. |
