So I'm pretty sure this is legit. A lot of people are saying how bad it is, but I kinda like it...although that may be because I don't own anything by Cryptopsy and am not judging it by past records.

...the intro reminds me of new Enslaved...

i think their new direction is interesting, even though the vocalist is goofy... i can't really decide from those songs... could be good but could also suck horribly

Holy shit, the only thing that could resemble to Cryptopsy is the drumming at 2.49 onwards ( I mean you hear it's Flo). But seriously wtf the vocalist sounds like the guy from Incubus. Yea overall it was seriously big shit.

Wtf! That was all i could say. that is seriously a really gay intro. When it got heavy it was alright. In my opinion it sounds like the vocalist is trying to sound like lord worm way to much when he growls.

R.I.P. Cryptopsy

That was brutally awful. That doesn't even sound like the same band.

wow, that was complete shit. well, the drumming was cool, but otherwise, horrible. ESPECIALLY the intro + random talking throughout.

I agree with the R.I.P. comment.

As soon as Lord Worm came back it was game over for me, and apparently for him once again.

I prefer Whisper Supremacy and ... And Then You'll Beg.

The singer on this track isn't Lord Worm, but the new guy (Matt McGachy).

I'm fucking stunned. How could the band that made Blasphemy Made Flesh, None So Vile, Whisper Supremacy, And Then You'll Beg, and Once Was Not produce something this shit? The vocals are crap, the growls have obviously been messed with, and the riffs and drums are completely dull. And where's the female keyboardist's input? Ten to one Alex and Flo fire this new guy and bring back Worm when they realise everyone hates it.

To play devil's advocate, although from this track I can predict how the new album will be, because Cryptopsy are one of my favourite bands I'm going to be foolish and hope that there's enough steel left in them to make the album (The Unspoken King? eeuw) decent. They just might pull it off, and surprise us all. Please, Cthulhu, do something...

I never knew why they bothered hiring a new guy anyways, Alex and Flo are more than capable growlers. Of course, this is the moment Cryptopsy make their mainstream bid. Yet they just might make something worth listening to...

Some of it reminded me of Joey Jordison's drumming lol.

It's funny. This is the first time where I've really been struck by how people's expectations affect how they think of something...

What the fuck happened?

I'm trying to keep an open mind with this, but for the love of God. This is serious bullshit. Listen to that goddamn guitar. Where are those relentlessly brutal roller-coaster riffs from Once Was Not? They're just not here.

That singing makes me gag. They sound like Puddle Of Mudd. I'm gonna be sick. This isn't Cryptopsy. If they wanted to do something more mainstream, then at least make it a fucking side project or something where it will get a little bit of a better reception. Don't fuck up the Cryptopsy name with this dumb bullshit.

I'm gonna listen to Keeping The Cadaver Dogs Busy and enjoy the jazzy brutality they used to have.

yeah it's funny seeing how extreme peoples' reactions are to a crappy quality leak. also i was expecting something like this when they said they were getting a clean vocalist lol

oh yeah there's a second song: http://www.zshare.net/audio/8769288b130406/ riff reminds me of meshuggah

I'm, um...surprised to say the least. And come on, expectations are going to have to play a role in your perceptions of new material. And well, compared to this bands back catalog, this strange. Can't say I enjoyed it. New Testament song, though! Good stuff.

So this one is quite a bit better - I really wish he would stop trying to sing clean! I know that's part of his deal and something they're experimenting with, but it just doesn't fit the music to me. It's not like he has an absolutely terrible voice (though it's not great), but it just sounds weird in a Cryptopsy song. The drumming is pretty tasty in parts, as expected. I've figured out that I don't particularly mind the singer's low growling (though he's no Lord Worm) - his screaming and clean vox are pretty horrendous though and almost ruin the song for me. I'll be intrigued to see what the rest of the album sounds like - I just hope most of the songs tend towards this one rather than the first, because then at least we'll have a mediocre album rather than an outright awful one.

I listened to the second song first so I thought you guys were being a bit harsh but then listening to the first song, I quickly understood what you guys mean. It's those clean vocals that ruin it.

Zad mentioning "mainstream" makes me wonder if normal people would actually like this.
