The new Children of Bodom has apparently leaked. Downloaders, begin. Anti-downloading crusaders, begin lectures.

I like them, but not really that interested tbh. The chances of them changing their sound in any significant way is pretty small. I'll probably buy it in a few months...

I'll wait for the review here before I even bother downloading. If people are impressed then I'll give it a go.

I wasn't impressed with the last album and a half, but I thought that Blooddrunk was a step in the right direction, so I thought I'd check it out. I'm downloading it now, I'll post comments later.

One listen through and it wasn't bad by any means. Once again, they really need to stop trying to write slow songs because they suck at them, but some of the fast numbers were very good and the solos nice as always. Still, some of it seems just boring- they've lost the chaotic songwriting that made the first three so great. Still, give it a listen- I think at least that those who liked Hate Crew will at least find this one to be listenable. Time for another listen..

I'm guessing it's going to be nowhere as good as Follow the Reaper and even worse than their last album.

I'll still give it a go though.

Its nowhere near as good as Follow the Reaper, but it sure as hell isn't worse than the last album.

Meh I'm probably not going to bother. The two songs I've heard did not impress me.

Why the hate?Just curious,as my friend claims to be a diehard melodeath fan & he loathes keys, synths etc.

I love keyboards especially when they are high in the mix and stand out,not being relegated to "atmosphere" duty. And this new CoB album delivers for me,though being a fanboy I go in with an overabundance of leaniency.Still, from the second this came out,I was listening over & over again.I like every song, and its a huge improvement over their last, but its definitely not going to convert any naysayers.Janne Warmen & Roope L. kick ass! :dio:

i dunno... they just sound cheesy to me. I love the organs that hard rock bands used in the 70s though

I'm a diehard melodeath fan and I'm all about keyboards. They add a good atmosphere to many a band's style.

Now that metalcore isn't popular as it used to be they've made a more melodic album. Unbelievable.

Anyway it's not terrible like AYDY but it's still ok at best.

Right on, noodles.

Keyboarded instruments can be tremendous if they are authentic- the organs you mention, or something equally cool such as the mellotron. (Or the piano itself of course) But too often metal bands are content to use the low budget electric equivalent.

The organ used by most of the hard rock bands in the 70's was actually an electric organ. A Hammond of some sort, I thnk
