Yeah, I know that starting this topic is about the same thing as posting an invitation to a digital bloodbath, but I figured this partictular tidbit needed mentioning anyway.

It appears as though an intrepid YouTube-user has posted 30-second samples of each of the four songs included on "The Mirror's Truth" single by In Flames, to be released next month (but only in Europe...suspiciously :lame: ). I have no absolutely no idea what his sources are, and the quality of the songs isn't quite perfect, but regardless, the link is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Av03BiTFe2g.

I don't think I'll go too deep into my own opinions of the songs just yet, but I will say this: Me likey. Me likey indeed :dio:.

Besides the fact the songs sound the same, I can't fucking stand the vocals.

Just my two cents.

Well, turns out not too long from when I posted this topic someone replied to the YouTube samples with one of the full songs from the actual album, called Disconnected. Man, how did this stuff start leaking so early?

Not bad. That's all I really have to say.

And I really can't get over just how shitty the artwork is. Really.

I love everything this band has done. Can't wait for this new album.

The artwork style is cool, but I don't understand it. I'd say they clearly hired some young artists to do that artwork. Either way, art isn't all that important, but it is sort of ugly. I like the band name, but I don't understand the significance of the owly wolfhead, or whatever it is. And that stupid fucking thing has the ass of its pants halfway past the crack on the album cover, like the new urban emo wigger look.

Hmm...looks like those guys down at Nuclear Blast work like lightning.

In any case, the video for the first single, The Mirror's Truth, has debuted today, so that's always a fine supplement. Yet another link: http://headbangersblog.mtv.com/2008/02/ ... #more-1646.

In my opinion, the video is, well...strange. Stranger than anything else the band has ever done, really. But it's certainly well done, and the song is absolutely incredible. I think my anticipation for the album is now reaching unhealthy levels .

How do these albums/songs manage to leak before being released anyway? Don't the record companies hold on to the songs with iron grip and lock them away so that nobody outside the company can do anything with them before their respective albums are released?

The In Flames album's leaking so early that I'll bet it isn't even fully edited yet.

Or maybe ppl with L337 hacking skills steal the music. lol

Finally seems like they're starting to get the sound they were going for on the past few albums. Awesome video too. I like the reference to pinball map.

That video is damn wacky. Both song and video are great, though.

Fucking amazing... I knew my boys wouldn't disappoint! Best band ever, ever, fucking ever. Well... At least for me. :D

Also I believe I'm one of the few that think Anders is one of the best vocalists in metal... Then again I enjoy unique sounding vocalists. A couple other favorites of mine are Dave Mustaine and Christian Alvestam.

The best part is their videos are usually not of the best tracks on the album, I'm VERY psyched about this release right now.

Thanks a lot for the heads up on the vid, I knew it was coming but didn't realize it was already out.

As for leaks... I usually get a lot of albums 1-2 months in advance, just depends on the band. The larger bands of each genre usually sneak out pretty early.

The bands and labels leak the shit themselves, why? because we're talking about it, aren't we?

It is funny you should mention it, generally the labels don't give a shit what anyone does with the promo copies. They know for a fact that putting the album out there early will result in illegal copies of it. They aren't stupid enough to think breaking the tracks up stops anyone. It is probably done because the labels lawyer wanted them to stop making it look so obvious in case they have to take bootleggers to court.

That's a good point, but I think the dramatic, gradual unveiling of the album over a couple of months makes for a better entrance than, "Oh wait, just grab the songs off the Internet right now". Not to mention most major labels would be deemed MAJOR hypocrites if they did that.

This case is a bit different though. Apparently two of the songs were played on some radio channel in Sweden, so the "leaks" were really just radio rips.

You're such a moron. Shitlickers like you unfortunately work for labels and they steal this shit so they can put it online. It makes them feel good, it's like show and tell for people. These morons also work at the studios where these songs are recorded and stored.

But the labels are leaking this stuff on purpose, right? Haha. More idiocy from a downloader trying to convince himself he's not really stealing. Nope. Not stealing. The label is actually giving it away for free—they just don't want to admit it. Haha.

I think I hate you more than I hate noodles. Go smoke a cigarette and fall asleep on a flammable bedspread while it's lit.
