I've met their guitarist, he's such a cool guy.

Next time I run into him I'll see if he wants to do an interview or something with the site.

I also used to have homemade demos from these guys when they were a local band, It was pretty cool, I'll see if I can somehow get permission for you guys to post those songs on the mp3 section.

They're coming close enough for me to go see them in March. Skeletonwitch is also playing which makes me excited. A Life Once Lost and Veil of Maya are playing though and I guess their metalcore. Anyone know if the metalcore bands are worth seeing?

When is this album coming out?

A Life Once Lost are commonly referred to as Meshuggah-lite. Though their new album is Every Time I Die-lite.

lol

Nice artwork, but unless it's a departure in their sound I doubt I'll bother. Some bands just don't interest me, nothing against them...

Haha!

If you ever want to send me sprinting in the opposite direction of an album, that is the description to do it with.

But seriously, Every Time I Die are awful shit.

Arsis is fucking amazing. Been a fan since I heard A Celebration of Guilt years ago. Definitely one of my favorite melodeath groups.

This album will no doubt destroy.

Yeah man, I've seen arsis play 4 times around here and one night I got to talk to the old drummer and merch guy for 30 minutes or so, spoke to james a little bit but he was busy doing some other shit. Good guy though.

Terrorizer, on multiple occasions in reviews. Review of 'Iron Gag'

"At first Glance, summing up A Life Once Lost is as simple as 'former Meshuggah copyists move on to aping Every Time I Die'. That's because with 'Iron Gags' first two tracks, all the Philadelphia outfit have seemingly done is move from sounding like one popular band to another popular band. Once you get into the heart of the album however, it's obvious that ALOL have managed to combine polyrhythmic technicality and modern dirt rock without sounding forced or unnatural. The swagger of 'Worship', 'All Teeth' and 'Meth Mouth' flows with a smooth, angular quirkiness, while the creepy 'Masks' generates visions of fat men in forests being ordered to squeal. Flirtations with depressed tempos and ballads don't suit them, but the fly-the-flag-high, Southern boogie of 'The Wanderer's second half redeems most misdeeds. In the end, it may seem strange that a couple of years ago these dudes were worshipping at the altar of Thordendahl, Haake, et al (and the Converge/Dillinger one before that), but ALOL have donned the appropriate snakeskin shit-kickers and brought the peculiar rock."

7/10

Ya know, I constantly get reccomendations for Arsis and I just haven't been able to settle into their sound. Maybe I'm just approaching it the wrong way...

How the fuck can they even remotely mention Everytime I Die and Arsis in any form of comparison?

Nonsense.

And there were Omaha dates before, NESS? Shows how much attention I pay to the local scene. Kinda stopped caring after they killed the ranch bowl... Don't feel like seeing the emo/hardcore shows at the Sokol Underground.

Yeah they came here last year with Necrophagist. Amazing. And +1 on the ranch bowl. Fucking walmart. :lame:
