Post subject:  Keep of Kalessin
Has anyone heard this band? They're opening up for Behemoth and Dimmu Borgir in the USA this spring.

On metalarchives, their latest album has gotten really high ratings. Everyone compares it to Immortal and Dimmu which could be bad or good so any thoughts on them?

I've heard of them, though I've never listened to them. Someone said that they have shouted vocals ala hardcore which might be a turn off for some. But it's probably an exaggeration.

They definitely don't.

Armada was a pretty cool album, especially the last couple of songs.

Armada's actually the one album of theirs I don't have. The first couple are decent if unexciting, this is a band that improved as they went along. Worth a listen, still.

they play fast and double-bass-driven black metal, which is how i like it. At least at Armada.

If you know what I think you can read my review. Armada is an excellent album. Fenriz of Darkthrone agrees with me too.

Keep Of Kalessin is one of my favorite bands and Armada was one of the best Black/Death/Trash albums released in 2006...FACT!
