![]() Quote: CRYPTOPSY Joined By 3 MILE SCREAM Singer - Dec. 4, 2007
Canadian death metallers CRYPTOPSY have announced the addition of singer Matt McGachy (3 MILE SCREAM) and keyboardist/samplist Maggie Durand (HOWLING SYN) to the group's ranks. The band will enter the studio mid-December to begin recording its sixth album for an early 2008 release. CRYPTOPSY will, for the first time ever, be touring Mexico, Central and South America during the month of February and will possibly hit Mexico once more in April. http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbe ... emID=86144 There's a link there to one of 3 Mile Scream's songs, and whilst his screams aren't bad, I really, really can't bear the thought of hin doing those clean vocals - unless Crypto REALLY up the Jazz elements. I'll get the new album automatically, but does this mean it'll suck? This new guy doesn't seem as good as Worm, or even DiSalvo... |

Sounds erm, interesting. Maybe they'll go all Cynic on us! unlikely, though. |

Wow, the band on pic seems like a mix of Lacuna Coil and Emperor now. |

When did they go to a six piece? The two new members added on to the three old ones makes five, when did they add another new member? |

Wow, his clean vocals were lame but if he kept to the harsh vocals, it could be alright. What the hell is that girl wearing though? She has puff balls on her shoulder, a goofy ass looking corset and pants that look weird as fuck. |

Wtf they didn't have a keyboardist before... Did they hire the chick just to fuck her? |

The guy sounds like a good harsh vocalist...I like screaming better than growling, so that's probably just my taste. I thought the clean vocals were okay, but they're definitely not good. |

The new singer is going to suck. 3 Mile Scream Just sounds like another shitty deathcore/metalcore band. I'll still buy the new album and maybe it will be good. Maybe the new singer can do some vocals like lord worm. highly doubtful though |

Wow, this is gonna suck. Why did you have to do it, Cryptopsy? Why? :( |

IF they conform the vocalist to lord worm's sound and not his old style it could be good. As for the keyboard, I have no clue wtf they are going to do with that except maybe go all melodeath or something rather. |

Ugh. They should have hired Martin Lacroix to join the band. He did the vocals on None So Live, and he did an even better job than Worm. |

While the future isn't looking too hot for fans of the their prior works(myself included),I hope they try more of the sound off of Once was not.The effects were awesome and atmospheric, and they could continue to try songs like Angelskingarden, with the keyboards in the backround enhancing the music and adding some nice layering to the solo. Or maybe they want to sound more like Born of Osiris/The Faceless.Either wouldn't ruffle my feathers,as long as they keep the intensity awesome drumming and hopefully technical side of things. |

Wow. It'll be interesting to see what comes of this. Personally they should bring back the guy from the 2 albums when Worm was gone ( Name slips my mind, not huge on Cryptopsy, sorry. ) |

there were two, Martin Lacroix and Mike DiSalvo. they sound quite a bit alike and personally i liked them more than Lord Worm. i guess it's a matter of personal taste but i like it better when the singer sounds like he's still saying words. |

I believe DiSalvo is whom I'm speaking of. I saw them on tour for ... And Then You'll Beg and thought the vocals were best at that time. |
