Where is Practice What You Preach?!

Other than that I'd say its pretty dead-on. I'd switch bonded by blood and rtl.

Yes, Atheist is considered Technical or Progressive Thrash Metal, although they're that kind of band that transcend genres.

Countdown To Extinction is thrash metal? I listened to that album just this morning in the car. It certainly doesn't sound like thrash metal to me. It's standard heavy metal, and basically the blueprint for what Megadeth would do from that point on (This Was My Life, in particular, sounds like the song Mustaine used as a template for what was on Cryptic Writings).

my only complaint is rust in piece is far too polished, precise, and wanky (for the solos) to be the best thrash metal album... also I haven't heard enough thrash to make very good judgements :P

Since when was Morbid Tales thrash? It only has one (I think) thrashy song.

Coroner are way too low on the list.

And this is too black for being in the thrash list.
Destroyer 666 - Phoenix Rising

Perhaps, but it's definantly top 5 absolutely legendary and near perfect IMO.

I think it's better to take this list as unordered, there's shitloads wrong with it, such as the aforementioned Forbidden problem and even more such as Sabbat's first two albums being ranked the wrong way round. Still, good list.

I'd personally consider them to be jazzy death tinged thrash metal-but that's a ridculous genre name, isn't it?

yeah I was a little harsh on it, I just don't think its the "definitive" thrash album ^^

I'm glad Ride The Lightning ranked higher than Master Of bloody Puppets. Actually, Ride The Lightning gradually seems to be usurping Master's status.
