Thrasher by Evile? This is my attempt to answer your question. I don't listen to much thrash, but regardless, this song is really fucking fast, and in a coherent type of way, ya know? Drums, guitar, bass, vocals... all brutally fast.
No offense to you but reading that makes me feel like you need to delve a lot more into classic thrash like Dark Angel. Thrasher is a great song though.

Reading this just reminded me, did any of you read a particular section of Terrorizer a while ago where a retard said that Trivium influenced Death Angel? :omfg:

I've listened to this song and I think it reminds me a little bit to this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8r0KRKwPn6o

Yeah, the response from everyone was funny shit. Though you can't take it for granted that the guy isn't in fact that retarded when you'll find people who'd rather listen to Slipknot than Morbid Angel.

True enough, if it was Metal Hammer I wouldn't bat an eyelid. Terrorizer tend to have a pretty subtle, sneaky sense of humour, however, so they were either taking the piss or wanted to cause a stir. This is the magazine that had an interview with Bring Me The Horizon where they said Napalm Death weren't grindcore, after all.

 I almost forgot that. Also there was that issue when they said Sarah Brightman was the new singer of Nightwish a while back for April Fool, I genuinely believed it, though I didn't read too much Terrorizer back then.

I believed that for like, an astonishing ten minutes. Embarrassing! New issue's pretty good, actually, good interview with Enslaved and there's a cool Folk Metal special goin'-on atm.

Yeah, I know I just got it today actually. It's amazing how you can actually see the cover of the magazine, what with all of the jizz that the Terrorizer writers put all over it, but at least unlike a lot of popular bands, Enslaved actually deserve it. Ahem.

I admit that I was sorta joking.

Berzerker or Dark Angel get my vote for their respective genre.

You need that sort of limitation because any musician can play fast shit, but if they can't play at high speeds without many mistakes it doesn't count.

I hate Dragonforce but i must disagree with you, it does count just listen to Cryptic Slaughter - Convicted, those guys were fucking fast, crazy and maniacal, they were sloppy too but that was part of the charm technicallity isnt everything in metal attittude goes a long way in the genre.

Of course if youre talking about how a bunch of phonies those Dragonforce guitar players are pretending to be something that theyre not well then i agree with you.

Actually, metal is known for being the genre which requires the most technical ability, bar perhaps guitar wank like Satch and Vai. Attitude is more of a punk thing, although there are elements of it in metal (thrash).

For real. Metal is definitely advancing in terms of technicality and the best metal musicians can now certainly compete with jazz or classical ones. But nonetheless, just in order to avoid being laughed off the stage in jazz music you have to have been practicing solidly for many, many years... unless you have phenomenal natural gifts.

It's not just finger dexterity and all that, it is also in terms of theoretical knowledge and understanding of music. Shredding solos in metal often tend to be dominated by individual modes and generally static tonality. In jazz, for example, you're expected to improvise a melody over a chord progression that alters maybe every two beats and changes tonal centre every couple of bars.

Anyway, listen to any random form of folk music from all over the world and the chances are it will be full of musicians who can totally rip your face off without mercy.

I would say, though, that in the sphere of rock music and its family tree, metal seems to me to be the most technically advanced in terms of musicianship.
