I saw Ross The Boss, Primal Fear and Judas Priest on Friday. Priest absolutely fucking ruled, and Halford was in top form. I had read comments about the man not being able to do it anymore, but it's just bullshit. Painkiller was a wet dream and Sinner ripped new holes in my body.

I enjoyed Priest as much as the next man when I saw them last month, but unless Halford had an off-night when I saw them or he just pulled it out of the bag when you did, you can't be serious about Painkiller?

The band were spot-fucking on but the great man just struggled.

Have you seen the Rising In The East performance? Halford spends the whole song hunched over staring at the floor, randomly.

Yeah in Sweden it was "Thooos oooos the Painkiller."

Sad really, but he was still great for most of the set. Just struggles with the shrieks these days.

Hyped for the Metallica show tonight... Ran into Kirk in the city last night. Seems like a nice guy.

Yeah, for the most part he was really good, but Painkiller was just hilarious. Me and my mate ran around the campsite just copying his ridiculous shrieks for ages, haha.

I actually had a chat with him and his bodyguard. They like the city and the people. Allthough it's like never before. He wouldn't tell if they would do any new stuff at the show, which they didn't but I think they were supposed to.

Nice, but I'd want Fade to Black to be honest. It'd be nice to have some other tracks in place of the post black album stuff as well, Disposable Heroes would be sweet but oh well. That setlist is probably the best you could've wished for really.

Was it Noodles who said they only played this live once?

I know this basically makes me a poser, but Enter Sandman is a fucking amazing song, all the riffs and everything are brilliant. THEY HAVE TO PLAY EEEET. Sad But True is OK I guess.

I've got one thing to say. You guys better catch Iron Maiden on this tour. Yesterday was officially my best live experience ever. I don't know how they do it, but they sent chills down my spine on every song. Everyone was flawless, Bruce was awesome with the audience, and what a fucking stage! Metallica can go screw Bob Rock, for this is the best live band alive.

They played all the classics, and Moonchild was a nice suprise. Always loved that song. Rime of the Ancient Mariner was pure power.

I have one complaint though. Who the hell is Avenged SevenHomos to support Iron Maiden. This is the fucking worst band I've heard since I don't know when. It's pissing me off when I see all the emo-fags leave the concert when they're done playing. And all the stupid girls in front who screams "Oh Synyster Gates is so hot". He looks like a bitch... An emo-bitch. Their singer looks like a mini version of Vin Diesel which does not make him any less gay. blargh.

Somebody on this forum once said that A7X where 'jocks' and probably bullied the Maiden fans in school. I lol'd, that's just bullshit.

I am serious about Painkiller, and it's not just me, about 5 different persons I've spoken with felt the same way. They had just cancelled a couple of shows before that night, on account of Tipton's abdominal problems, so maybe Halford was very well rested and able to nail everything just right. Anyway, regardless of the reason, he definitely exceeded my expectations. And he didn't spend any quality time with the floor either. He moved around quite a lot actually. True, he moved slowly (hey, he's 60), but he moved, he was all over that scene.

I just saw Iron Maiden last night. Much better than the last time I saw them, but now they had Bruce, not Blaze. If I'll have half of his energy when I'm 50 I'll be happy. I'm curious if all this back in time tour will inspire them to write something in the vein of their 80's albums. I want to believe.

Last one for me was Kiss in Luxembourg. Probably the "biggest" band I've seen yet, I usually only go to smaller death or thrash metal gigs. I'm not really a Kiss fan but it was fun, they put on a show like no other...

Last was Wacken 08, which was quite awesome. Next will be Warbringer/Finntroll in Toronto on the 28th. Looking forward to Warbringer far more than Finntroll, but overall everything minus Profugus Mortis should be pretty fuckin awesome :dio:
