What an entrance.

IX Equilibrium is an Emperor-album you turd.

Well it was just an reaction to statements like this:

Hehe, i know, i did'nt see the IX. Sorry for that. Still i can't see the similarities. Btw Emperor is on a different level than Dimmu, hehe. And IX Equilibrium got guitars, i can't hear much of that on Abrahadabra.

You certainly got that right. IX Equilibrium gets better each time I listen to it. The guitarwork is brilliant!

Anthems is my Emperor fav, but Ix is exelent. I admit, i like many Dimmu albums. Imo Spiritual Black Diamensions is a masterpiece, and with same complex quaity as Emperor, but Dimmu have never again reach that level. Still i would say that EDT, PEM and DCA is very good albums. But when it comes to symphonic black metal Noturnal Mortum, Kataxu, Limbonic Art, Obsidian Gate, Anorexia Nervosa and Emperor are the true masters.

I was suprised to see this thread go on for a bit, but then I recall the hate for the band so most of it is just flaming. As for the album its a bit disappointing, simplistic and weak songwriting makes for a difficult listen. By the time anything happens I'm hurrying to put something else on. The solos are nice but not enough to save the album. I wish more songs were like Gateways, its the one track that harkens back to their PEM and Deathcult days. Bummer.

I know I hardly define the Black Metal Elite but Emperor just doesn't do it for me, I've listened to all their cd's many many times and its just kind of hard to listen to.

You should give the album some more spinns. For me its the best album since PEM or DCA. Very good! Gateways is good, but its not at all amoung my favourite tracks. 5/6

The Emperor EP is emperor's best output. Anthems is really good to. Emperor is probably the most overrated of the major Norwegian black metal bands.

The opening riff of "Pagan fears" and "Carnage" destroy the bands newer material at least, listening to "Thus spake the nightspirit" I have to say Emperor's older material is amazing.

Good, listen to more of Emperor's older material then!

Comparing Emperor with Mayhem is comparing apples with pears. Pointless discussion.
