Pierced was more technical though it still is a masterpiece.
Though when you say "stomp", then you clearly haven't heard the breakdowns or heaviness of Effigy. That album is still unrivaled in brutality. Check it out sometime

No other death metal band can reach the abysmal badness of Carnivorous Vagina. If you haven't heard them, consider yourself lucky... It's basically noise with some vocals that sound like they were recorded through a pool noodle.

Anyways, now that that madness has been addressed: if we're counting In Flames and their ilk then they win teh prize hands down. Though I think the worst of that whole sappy melodeth genre has to be Shadows Fall. I received a free sampler of Retribution and...holy crap, what a shitty shitty shitty shitty album. Quite possibly the worst thing that has ever burst through these speakers. My god.

As far as boring, a few months ago I went to see Necronomicon and Necrodios and there was this horrible band that opened for them. It seems that most people attending the gig must have known how mindblowingly boring they were because I was one of the only unfortunate people there to witness the set. Thank the metal gods for beer, cure for boring openers.

There's quite a few terrible death metal albums out there. It's a really easy genre to make terrible music in. Torsofuck is pretty bad
