Death - Sound of Perseverence

I should be shopping for other people now, but when I saw this I had to have it; it's hard to believe how hard it is to find anything by Death around here.

Why don't you try Ebay? Plenty of metal CD's on it.

You know, I don't know why it never occurs to me to do that. For some reason when I do log onto Ebay, I only search for hard-to-find stuff. For example I just bough Dr. Shrinker's Grotesque Wedlock (which I hadn't listed here because it hasn't arrived yet).

Enslaved - below the lights. What a creative gem!

Also, a lot of the CDs for sale on Ebay are bootlegs.. beware anything selling below cost.

Aura Noir - The Merciless

I've become so addicted to this vulgar mix of old school Thrash and Black, that I decided to buy it :D .

Empyrium is something special. I am not sure if this can be classified as metal, although I did find reviews on metal sites. There is no distortion to speak of, but they give us a minute or two of black vocals so perhaps that all one needs to be called metal nowadays! Seriously, I do think their manner of arrangement is very metal and one might call this accoustic black metal. One stickler called it dark folk. Closer in the metal spectrum to bands like Agalloch than anything else I've heard.

Korpiklaani is definately folk metal - again mixed with some harsh vocals. Very diverse, I detected everything from hummpa to straight ahead accoustic to Scottish. Very nice! I'm listening to the song called Pellonpekko right now and it's making me very emotional.

I guess I can't spend so much money on CD's... Damn it! :x

Shining - Through Years of Oppression
Carpathian Forest - We're Going to Hollywood for This - Live Perversions (DVD)
Borknagar - Epic

And now I won't buy a CD (or a DVD) until January 11th. Cause now it's New Year and my girlfriend's birthday, then two more birthdays...

But hell, who cares? :)

The last one I heard was The Black House and it was really fuckin' good; not Death Metal at all............

Is it really REALLY changing into Death Metal, or just some shades of it are present in the new stuff?

Guess we'll have to wait and see. It worked for Behemoth.

Xasthur - Telepathic with the Deceased
Bathory - Under the Sign of the Black Mark
Judas Iscariot - Heaven in Flames
Burzum - Burzum/Aske

They arrive in the next week. The self titled Burzum album is the only one I havn't heard. And Daniel, you better be right about Heaven in Flames, or I'll have to do something drastic.

The split with nunslaughter was pure death metal, only slight shades of black metal were present. Of course this could be just some sort of intermezzo, I hope. BM that Krieg presented was much better.

Yes, I'm pretty sure this is just some experiment. Krieg is most likely releasing a split with Nachtmystium after all (CD & LP) sometime next year.

Haha; don't worry, if you like Black Metal there's no way you won't like Heaven in Flames; I really like the keybords on the album, nothing flashy, they just add such a cool atmosphere; very epic at times, very melancholic at others.

As for the rest well, you have Hvis Lyset Tar Oss as your avatar so I guess you know what to expect from Varg; although I find HLTO and Filosofem much better the one you ordered is very good too; I just love Black Spell of Destruction. Xasthur's album is fuckin' brilliant, without a doubt one of the best BM album's of the year; and well Bathory's album is a fuckin' classic; I think it was Fenriz who said that if you don't like Under the Sign of the Black Mark, you don't like Black Metal; I think he also mentioned it to be the best BM album ever; I wouldn't agree there but it sure is a killer album.

Hails for your future albums !
