It's just a matter of perspective. I like S.O.D because they really didn't give a shit what people think.

Well, they don't get much publicity, that's for sure.

They did get quite a few for their debut album... Maybe the reason they didn't get more afterwards is because they're simply not that good a band...

Well I like that band, therefore I think it's great, so fuck off. If you judge how good a band is by the publicity they've got you're probably an idiot.

Well he might be an idiot but is true that their only worthy material is their debut, and i think that he was refering to Scott Ian being in the band when he said that they werent that obscure, anyways Speak English or Die is an excellent album for sure, you should also listen to Cryptic Slaughter's "convicted" one of the best crossover albums ever those guys were fucking crazy, bill crooks sing like a fucking maniac.

Yeah, well so was Les Claypool in Blind Illusion. I think they both put up a great first album.

Cannot you stop insulting people just because they disagree with your narrow minded judgements?

I think they weren't that good because, either in the thrash, hardcore or crossover area, other bands were much better than they were and that they relied too much on humourous lyrics to be taken seriously.

M.O.D. was a much better band imo.

Cannot you stop posting two posts in a row? I still agree with my point of view, wich is you are an idiot, not anybody else, just you. I know hundreds of bands wich are better than S.O.D. but they are still a great band, and I respect them for what they have done. Bands that rely on humorous lyrics kick ass.

It can be a pretty hard thing when you start thinking about it, especially when you are on mushrooms.

Well, if S.O.D. are obscure or not it's a matter of the year one was born. In the late 80's was very publicited, because it was a side project of two Anthrax components, Spitz & Benante (and Lilker, who played bass in Fist full). And Anthrax were great in that times.

For S.O.D. itself, was very funny, but not great musically. But it changed a lot of things in the crossover area, and that's the reason many people consider it a classic.

Wsx26, if you like S.O.D., you can try M.O.D. (Method Of Destruction), Milano's band in which he tries to follow S.O.D. path.

(hey, and M.O.D. is really an obscure thrash band :) )

Another obscure band, and very interesting one:
Sacred Reich and their Surf Nicaragua.

Sacred Reich are a great band, but not really obscure if you're into thrash metal.

Alright, alright, as I was saying before mr. know-it-all started talking shit, Anonymus, BARF (wich is more grindcore oriented but still considered thrash) and Dead Brain Cells are some good old thrash bands coming from where I live, and S.O.D.'s Speak English Or Die is definitly a Crossover classic.

Im suprised I haven't seen Coroner mentioned (unless I missed something?). Defenetly the most underrated and one of the best thrash-bands ever!

Ditto on Artillery aswell.
