Jimmy Eat World is a good pop band (shut up ! Metalhead !

i don't just hate anything not metal, ac/dc are in my top 5 fave bands, for god's sake!
j.e.w suck though

Oh, such an example of diversity there
AC/DC has so many things in common with metal making it a band most people who listen to metal like them. So you basically kindda chose a really bad example.

Jimmy Eat does not suck you just happen to dislike them.
I don't go on saying every band that I don't like that you listen to sucks? do I?

Nydvind kicked some serious ass last saturday.

First off in the evening was Walpurgisnacht; band was ok, but the guitars were way too silent. Next up, Grimm, authentic Flemish folk metal, very nice. Garmenhord next, pagan folk/black, also very nice with all the heraldry and the pitchforks.

And then... Nydvind. Awesome performance, not childish behaviour like some other black metal bands' members are prone to do, and a real feeling of love for their music. Excellent sound and minimal mistakes; the whole crown was singing along their folk chants.

After that, Kampfar played a very uninspiring set with again the guitars very silent, so I just left with my Nydvind album in my pocket. All in all, excellent fest.

Hmm, strange that Nydvind were better than Kampfar. How did Nydvind vocals sound? just as weird as on their albums?

No, their additional guitarist sang too, and played a thin flute and one point, very cool. The whole damn crowd was singing along, never had that happen before.

Thats cool that Nydvind can put on a good live show. I'm guessing you bought the Eternal Winter Domain cd? I'm still waiting for their new album 'Sworn to the Elder,' I'll be happy to hear a real drummer this time and not some crappy drum machine.

I was supposed to see Mastodon in Milan last Friday with some friends.

Only, when we got there, we found out there would be no concert, because "the band couldn't get the instrumentation there on time due to bad weather conditions" or something like that.

That was shit.

The only good thing about the day was the two Motorhead vinyls I found in a shop there.

I went to the Transit festival this weekend in Geneva. First night was Adagio and Anorexia Nervosa with a few less known opening bands. Adagio was great, I especially liked their version of Led Zeps Immigrant song. As for Anorexia Nervosa, simply amazing! I didn't think I would like their overly symphonic, blasting BM but it killed.

Next night was Leaves' Eyes and Atrocity. I wasn't as wasted as the previous night and a bit tired but I kinda was bored with this one. Leaves' Eyes was great. Whats-her-tits was very charming and good-looking as well as having a great voice but Atrocity left me wanting more. Wasn't nearly as many people either.

I'm gonna go see Moonsorrow and Kiuas on friday. I have seen Moonsorrow live once before, so I know it'll be a nice show.

Saw Vreid and Enslaved last week. Amazing show, but Enslaved's set was much too short :(

Nile, Dying Fetus and Necrophagist are playing 300 metres from my house, but I can't afford the ticket. :(

And even if I could, it'll probably be sold out.

So the last metal gig I was at was Nasum, Narcosis, Broken Access and Stigma. The latter being a duo; vocalist and a guy who played drums with his feet, an guitar with his hands. Excellent.

Other than that I just saw Dillinger Escape Plan, who were great if a little samey after a few songs. Supported by the mighty Ephel Duath! (who only played half an hour  )

Okay, so I was at that Moonsorrow/Kiuas show last night. Kiuas was pretty nice, kinda interesting how they mix parts of extreme metal with power metal. But Moonsorrow then....shit dudes, I'm saying this with great sadness, but they sucked last night. The guitars were way offtune at the beginnig of their gig and I have never heard so horrible work on vocals at stage. It got better towards the end, but the damage was done. I guess they are really not a live band than....
