Perhaps in an extreme way I think that the point, without being gay about it, is that Varg had balls. And was not dangerous in everyday life. (probably to an extent, of course)

First, the "I made a funny" comment was sarcasm. It was a terrible joke. Second, perhaps instead of telling me I'm wrong, you would, oh, I don't know, explain what you meant yourself? Because I'm still not convinced that I read it incorrectly.

I think all in all, I'd prefer "pagan" black metal over thrash, but the majority of black metal doesn't do much for me.

My favorite band is Slayer but I'll still put the Black Metal genre collectively above Thrash Metal

Thrash. But Black ain't bad either. Hell, some of the best BM music contains Thrash on the music side. I'm not much into any of the genres, but I do enjoy some thrash like Slayer and Overkill.

got to be black metal, i dont listen to thrash much it never manages to impress me, and black metal always grabs my attention and makes me listen like some kind of braindead chimp thats on auto-headbang.

Black cause as far as thrash goes, I've only listened to the 80s big four mostly, while I've listened to quite a lot of black. My favourite is death metal though, cause of the awesome heavy riffs, solos, and sometimes, melodies. But black comes in at a close second.

Now fuck the image and other non-musical BM aspects, only a complete retard who has never heard any BM properly can listen to Mayhem's Freezing Moon and not grin like an idiot as he realizes it's the greatest thing he never heard.

Also, you guys should stop complaining about having to travel to buy albums, at least they can be bought where you live, here there is only one company that sells music, and metal is filed with rock and the likes of My Chemical Romance and U2 for fuck's sake. But I completely made up for it when I went to Rome a few weeks ago and bought 18 CDs, including ABITNS, the only kvlt record there was.

Thrash=rage,energy,aggression and fun

Whereas it depends.

The Anthrax, Tankard or Death Angel thrash is energy, rage and fun.

The Slayer, Dark Angel, Kreator or Destruction thrash is hate, nihilism, aggression, negativity, rage and everything but not fun.

The Megadeth, Testament, Exodus, EDIT Sodom or Metallica thrash is somewhere in the middle.

On the other side, the Darkthrone or Venom Black Metal is sometimes also funny.

Thrash is not always this and black is not always that, because there are different variations in the style of the bands.

I don't think Sodom should be in your negative, etc. list. They can be just as "fun" as say Tankard.

Ok,ok [attention, german language] habe Sodom aus der negativen Liste rausgenommen. Wobei am Anfang waren sie schon eher sehr ernst, genau wie die letzten Alben (Code Red, Sodom, M16).
