Ah, pretty fucking sweet! A nice mix of the old, the recent past, and the new. Perfect fodder for the metal elistists and 14-year-old metal experts to latch onto and rip to shreds. Haha.

Pretty fucking sweet indeed. After my fifth consecutive listen, I can say that the only problem is that I wish the lyrics were more catchy but everything else is solid.

MANGLED FLESH!! :dio:

Edit: Scratch that the chorus is good. I got it on the sixth listen.

I swear that i was listening to Slayer for about a second during the mangled flesh part. Pretty fucking sweet indeed.

Why when I listen to this song on youtube, every version of the song is a different length? The first one I heard was over 6 minutes and the version I have now is less than 5.

Once again, Metallica has no problem showing off their new music in a rather timely manner. 30 second samples of all the songs on Death Magnetic have been posted:

Unfortunately, the Real Media links for the song samples are dead, so you'll need to listen to them through the Youtube stream at the bottom of the news article. It basically sounds like modern Exodus, which is a good thing. Surprisingly, I think reverting back to standard E tuning actually works in the album's favor, since Metallica used E tuning for their "classic albums", and it helps them to regain that classic sound the band's previous few albums were missing.

It sounds good. The Cyanide clip sounded better than the live version so that is a blessing.

Say what you want, but I think it sounds more like old school 80s thrash than the last Slayer or Megadeth. As if the last 20 Years never happened...
It's not a new KEA, RTL, MOP or AJFA but it's a new DM and it fits perfectly into this row. At least, these little soundfiles.

Im pretty impressed by what I heard so far....Personally I really like the new single and it reminds me of the stuff they played back in the black album days.
