Is it out already?

Indeed

It's fucking chaotic.

.:crast:.

I've heard it once and it was overwhelming. Didn't really get it. Who's on drums btw Flo Mounier or something? It's insanely fast and technical.

How's the Samael? I've heard they've pretty much hit a wall with this catchy electro-metal stuff.

Unfortunately, I can't speak to their previous CD's. This is the first Samael CD that I've bought. I did consider their "best of" collection called "Aeonics: An Anthology". I think I should have run with that. I haven't given the latest CD enough listening time to offer a valid founded opinion. I'm sure I'll listen to it a few times this week. I'll give you my impression in a few days.

Cryptopsy - Once Was Not
Devildriver - The Last Kind Words

When I went to go pick these up, I saw what looks like Korn's new album being put up on the shelves. The strange thing is that I don't remember seeing an ad anywehre in print or online, or hearing about any updates online in the past few weeks. Did they just really fudge up on the advertising, or have I just not been paying attention?

Cradle Of Filth - Cruelty And The Beast
Absu - The one with the guy with weird armour on the front

I noticed the exact same thing. I'm very surprised a band of Korn's size managed to sneak an album out with no fanfare. There was no pre-release stuff played on any rock radio either, so either the promotions really fucked up, or Korn wanted to try releasing an album with no advertising for some reason.

That, and it's untitled. Which is pretty bizzare, no matter what band you are... Even moreso with Korn.

Lamb of God - Sacrament. I bought it from Half.com yestarday, so it should be in probably by next week. I already know it's a great album since I've listened to it several times on Napster.

Apparently the marketing line is: no borders to the sound, so no title. Which is a bit much, coming from J. Davis.

Since The Unquestionable Truth Part 1 (fortunately) bombed in terms of sales, I wonder if Limp Bizkit has any plans to release any new music.

lol @ no borders. This album sounds flat out typical.

I wasn't impressed by what I heard so far from the new album. It sounds way too poppy. There's only been one song I like so far (Starting Over).

Armour - Soundhouse Tape

Demo from Finnish heavy rock band fronted by Werwolf from Satanic Warmaster. Very good Accept/W.A.S.P.-worship. The dude's clean vocals are a lot better than his rasp. He sounds a lot like Blackie Lawless actually. Heavy Metal Drinkers is the metalloid scum party anthem of the year!

Deathspell Omega - Fas - Ite Maledicti In Ignem Aeternum

Whoa, this is like the craziest parts of Kenose, just crazier. The drumming is totally hectic and the riffing sounds like Piggy faked his death and joined DsO. Lyrics are still very interesting. Needs a couple more listens. Fucking intense.

Goatlord - Reflections on the Solstice

Cult US doomy black metal. Think Hellhammer (the band, not the drummer) on tons of psychedelic drugs and with über-cheesy 80's electric drums that sound like the fucking Miami Vice soundtrack. Sick!

Mgla - Mdlosci / Further Down the Nest

Polish black metal. Pretty typical primitive BM, but well done with a good sense of melody and good lyrics.

Sepulchral Aura - Demo

Finnish DM. Sort of brings to mind a fusion of the dark atmosphere of old nordic death metal and the chaos and rawness of Sadistik Exekution. Promising band for sure.
