For some reason the vocal style reminds me of Divine Intervention stuff more than anything. Not sure I like the guitar sound; it's kind of quiet and lost under the vocals. Definitely different than the past two releases, which is a good thing. Nice chorus though. This CD might be good. Hard to tell based on one single but it's certainly a lot more promising the first singles which were released for the previous two.

Mmm, and here I was thinking that this would really suck. I'm actually really digging this quite a bit. Now I just hope that the rest of the album can keep up with this fast pace.

grip inc, bah. i have Incorporated, and the only bits when they're good is when they're fast (curse of the cloth, skin trade). then they REALLY kick ass.

other than that, pretty meh.

They played the B-side to this on the radio last night, and it was a groover rather than a thrasher... :(

Trademark Rick Rubin production. Can't produce a guitar tone to save his life.

This is pretty good. I won't let my hopes get too high though. Might be seeing them live next month, hopefully they play a couple new ones.

I don't like it. Not even worth the 10 seconds it took to download it. :P

fo shizzle, you have to agree with me that the songs i mentioned are cooler than the slow ones, even if the slow ones don't suck.

or at least that they are TOTALLY FUCKING KILLER! i love Skin Trade, the solo, the first time the vocals kick in, the intro.. the whole thing.

you seem like a big Grip Inc. fan, do they have a faster album, or can you name some other fast songs?

Or rather: "Rick Rubin seems to have fixed Araya's voice too".

Hmmm...I don't mind these new songs, but they're not like old Slayer. First off, one of the main riffs in "Eyes Of The Insane" is like the riff in System Of A Down's "Sugar." It's a mid-paced song.

"Jihad" starts out, I kid you not, like an AC/DC song!! It sounds like something Angus Young would do. This song turns into a fast song, but again it's not very old school, but more typical of older Slayer songs because it lacks melody. "Jihad" is the better of the two.

Again, both are good, but definitely more like their newer, groovier shit.

Jihad starts off with fuckin' Super Mario music or whatever it is, but the riff under the verses is kickass and the double bass bit is nice. The other song Eyes of the nu-metal or whatever is shit. SHIIIIT.

Ok. So I've heard Eyes of the Insane and Jihad, I must say its very dissapointing. If these are the best songs of the album it will suck. Eoti is a terrible groover, Jihad is slightly better but still bad. Hope meter has gone down and hit the bottom. This could suck.

Funny, I always think Slayer sound like Anthrax when they're grooving. Araya and Bush aren't that dissimilar.
