I actually care about the lyrics. It's hard for me to like the music if the lyrics completely suck. And yes, with something like 10 years of listening to extreme metal, i can usually understand what the vocalist is growling/screaming/vomiting.

Yeah, same for me. Some though, are impossible to follow. Good lyrics are a bonus, but I can still like the music if they aren't the greatest to read.

Well yeah, there are vocalists with completely unintelligible vocal styles (check out The Oath of Black Blood by Beherit).

And i can enjoy good music with somewhat dodgy lyrics, but if the lyrics are complete crap, it ruins the whole experience for me. But that's just my personal attitude problem. :)

I usually can, even though stuff like Cryptopsy is unintelligable-when you do work it out Lord Worm just seems to make sounds similair to the words, IE. Metalhead Bastard would be "Meeeeaaaahhheeeee bbbbyyyyyaaaaattttrrrrr!"

Lyrics are in BM are good if you can read them. In PM they should be nice to listen to.

Thats the thing.....i dont speak Norwegian, and i have no clue what the fuck language Taakes lyrics are written in!

Arcturus, Vreid, Ved Buens Ende, Enslaved, Mayhem, Sigh all have good lyrics, that i can actually understand (and in some cases, decipher without the booklet)

I only speak English, but I still listen to bands that sing in foreign languages. As long as the music is good, it's not a problem for me. And who knows, maybe if I listen to it enough I'll subliminally pick up on the language.

Nice album, and one of the reasons I like it is how incomprehensible a lot of it is- lyrics included.

Because most of the time I prefer to hear the voice used as a musical instrument, I think lyrics that are in a language I don't understand actually work better for me.

i could start flaming but i have less posts than him so yea i don't understand a lot of black/death lyrics, but the lyrics and the sound are 2 different listening experiences for me so i enjoy them separated
