Metal in general. I don't know about nor do I care about Metalcore hackery.

I think it's time to consider Overkill for what they are: the greatest thrash band that ever was.

Overkill's consistency alone puts them in the conversation. Their last three albums have really elevated them to a level the band hadn't enjoyed in quite some time. I might have gone with Slayer 10 years ago, but their studio output has dipped so dramtically over that time that it's impossible to give them the nod. If I had a gun to my head, I would probably give it to Kreator.

I remember buying this when they opened for Megadeth on the Gigantour in 2006. The fans were able to go backstage and meet the bands if they bought an album from the merch booth. All except for Opeth that is. You could buy an autographed CD but that was it. Pretty lame in my opinion, but back to Killbox. I honestly don't remember it being this good. They weren't quite back to classic form yet, but there is some damn good stuff on this release. Still haven't listened to Immortalis yet.

Not too surprised there, Akerfeldt is rumored to be a bit of a pain.

But the important thing I took away from this thread is that I have a few new Overkill albums to catch up on.
