His voice fit Nevermore like a glove.

And it's my turn to + motherfucking 1. I very well see how and why one can dislike him, however.

I really hope Jeff Loomis starts another band, one of my favorite guitarists.

Warrel Dane was awesome in Sanctuary but in Nevermore it just never clicked for me.

Warrel Dane rules. And however good Loomis's compositions and technique are, it's Dane's passion and vocal melodies that brought brilliance to Nevermore. That being said, I too have a hard time imagining this band carry on without Loomis. We'll see. In the meantime I remain very excited about the Sanctuary reunion and the promise of a future album. I hope the incidents in Nevermore will not affect Sanctuary in any way.

And imo The Obsidian Conspiracy is far from being worthless, but it's still their most unimpressive album, alongside Enemies Of Reality.

Loomis compositions became kind of repetitive lately. It's been good up to Godless Endeavour but, on the latest Nevermore as well as his solo album, I thought it was just more of the same and less inspired at that.
If the band finds the right axeman to replace their departed founder, it might be good news for their future.
Anyway, if it doesn't make 'em split, I'm looking forward to any new Nevermore recording.

I had tickets to see them in June so this sucks! Epsecially as I had to pay for fricking air fares and accommodation. I'll be going to Dracula's Restaurant and Cabaret instead.

Personally I think the band is as good as dead without Loomis. He wrote all those songs. Nevermore's amazing combination was the Warrel's voice and Loomis' guitar playing and songwriting.

I can't see them recovering without Loomis.
