I'd take that 'bland' drumming over Cannibal Corpses' taptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptap any day.

I don't see how playing uninteresting drumming is part of the primitive bm. Pan' plays pretty crusty bm and the drumming is top-notch.

Crusty =! primitive or ambient (or even atmospheric, a lot of the time).
