Do you even like Sepultura's entire discography?

That's far from what this discussion is about.

Honestly, I'd say it IS a classic. Regardless of what you may personally think of the album, you can't deny that it was among the most important and influential metal albums of the 90's. Not just to nu-metal but to most modern heavy metal. Heck, I was listening to Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence this morning and noticed Dream Theater adopted a Roots/Chaos-AD era Sepultura influence at some points.

And, quite frankly, I love it! I don't care that it influenced bands like Godsmack and Slipknot. Nor do I care that Jonathan Davis and DJ Lethal guest star on one track. It's a very fun and unique metal album. And Ratamahatta may very well be the coolest "rap-metal" song ever written.

If I were to play a mind-association game, 'Roots' would be followed immediately by 'disappointment'.

So, no.

What's this discussion about? I thought I was talking to Walnut about Sepultura/In Flames being boring and I asked him a question.

Yeah, it was just Walnut being Walnut: why don't you play topic police on him?

Sorry, I only got two done due to England's performance in the World Cup coinciding with the Sunday afternoon I usually spend writing. Wasn't planning on doing it immediately anyhow.

It's a good album but not a classic. But Schizophrenia, Beneath the Remains and Arise certainly are.

In Flames is currently boring, not so on their first three or four releases.

And as far as Sepultura goes.....I hear its good. I definately think there are other Brazilian bands that should have gotten much more press. Ahem....Alta Tensao....or Viper.

You liked old In Flames? Wow, HT. Color me surprised! There is some common ground between us :dio:
