I had the opportunity to buy And then youll beg by Cryptopsy but i didn't did I miss anything?
I wouldn't recommend Nile with the exception of one album.

Some good bands to start off with are:Through the eyes of the dead, Atheist(the only tech death youll ever need), Decrepit Birth, for Abigail Williams )Limbonic Art, Lux Occulta, Anorexia Nervosa, and to replace the boring Nile recommendation , God dethroned.

ATYB is a great album, the best of the non-Worm era. Very Jazzy and experimental, might take a few listens but it's a great album.

Atheist aren't Tech-Death. And God Dethroned are way more boring than Nile. Put on Cast Down The Heretic and then tell me God Dethroned are better once you've finished air guitaring.

What do you mean Atheist aren't technical death metal? They are the embodiment of the genre, have you heard I deny? or Piece of time. Listen to that and tell me those jazzy interludes aren't the epitome of technicality without being homosexual like Arsis or Psyopus.

As for Nile being better then God dethroned, I seriously doubt that I own Annihilation of the Wickend and it is one of the most boring death metal albums in my collection. Its fast and intense but the song lengths and Karl Sander's cock in mouth approach to vocals Lashed to the slavestick is the only semi-decent song without me falling asleep to the same tired Egyptian theme.

I wouldn't recommend them solely because they are a boring band for a beginning listener.

Atheist =/= tech death, what?

Maybe you're going to just say their jazz influenced death but I'm definitely hearing technicality in the forms of late era Death. Who knows maybe you'll say even those albums aren't tech death.

I suppose you could call them Tech Death, I always thought of them as being more towards the Thrashy end of the sphere.

Annihilation of the Wicked kinda sucked though...

AOTW was awesome. "Waaah, ten minute songs, I can't take it!" Ithyphallic was poor, though.

Take out the pyramids, and that pretty much sums up every band you listen to.

Nile needs a vocalist that sounds like he's burping and they'd be cool.

As if three vocalists aren't enough. Seriously, people who go 'eh, the only good song on AOTW was Lashed To The Slave Stick' haven't listened to it enough. Awww, you liked the short catchy song and haven't the patience to listen to an album with long, complex songs more than once? GTFO.

You like Nile that much? I think they're fairly boring.

I'm indifferent to Nile.

They have some good stuff, but I have to be in the mood for them.

Nile used to be my favourite death metal band. I love all their stuff except the 'Festival of Atonement' EP, that was a bit dull.

Best track IMO of AOTW is the title track.

I like Nile. I don't listen to them very often, but it's a good experience when I do. It's not really standard Death Metal, it's a lot more atmospheric, doomy, and gritty.

+1. Zad is right too. If you can't get enjoyment out of anything besides 'Lashed' out of AOTW, you aren't focusing on it. Nile isn't something you can listen to half assed.
