First impressions:
Warbringer - War Without End: Sounds like Bullet for my Valentine.
HAHA, just kidding. This is the shit. Thrash Metal has to be one thing: fast. And this IS fast. Fast, brutal and heavy as hell.

Evile - Enter the Grave: Sounds like Trivium. HAHA, not really, but the singing is a little bit like on the Crusade. Really old school. Not so much pushing like the warbringer, but still very good (it's like comparing Slayers Reign in Blood with Kreators Pleasure to Kill).

And I think both are even a little bit better than the last Slayer, Sodom, Exodus and Destruction. Not much boring midtempo. They both go forward with power and velocity.

Hell fucking yeah. But really only Beyond the Permafrost because their previous album was pretty lame from what I heard.

I do advise you all to check Hexen out, as thrashtildeath mentioned, they take a much more genuine old-school route. Plus, Holy Terror likes them.

You guys, seriously. Seriously, you guys.

I mentioned them. In the same breath as fueled by fire, who I think are just as awesome.

I've been trying, I promise! Can't find it so far, and I don't wanna download it if its really that good.

I'm sorry I must of missed that. I don't think Fueled by Fire should be mentioned in the same breath as Bonded by Blood.

There is new thrash (Fueled by Fire) and then there is good new thrash (Bonded by Blood).

Just checked out Hexen and it is pretty solid.

It's like they're copying 80s thrash or something. They need more innovation. :D

Seriously they were pretty good. The sad thing about all these bands is that they'll never get out of the shadow of 80s thrash. Ten years from now, I doubt we'll care about them.

Yeah, I think we might have argued a little about this before, a few months ago.

I think both bands are awesome. Track 5 on Fueled by Fire's album, I think it's called "betrayer" or "betrayed" or something, is just awesome. As good as anything on Feed The Beast.

Not to take anything away from Feed The Beast. I just think both bands are equally deserving of my praise.

I gave in and am downloading the Hexen album.

Also some bands to add to the list:

Guillotine (not that new, but not an 80's band either)
Insane (too bad they broke up)
Farscape (i actually thought these guys were an 80's band when I first heard them)
Havok (i play xbox live with the guitarist for this band, so they deserve a plug here, oh and they are cool)

I may of been a little harsh on Fueled by Fire, as the album is quite good. But I still don't rank them as high as Bonded by Blood.

So I downloaded the Hexen cd. I iwll be buying this, as it is very good. Only one problem with it, the drumming sounds the same as Merciless Deaths new album. And I didn't like that drumming at all. But everything else is fan-friggin-tastic.

Yeah, I listened to the tracks up on Myspace, which is what led me to including the album on my amazon order, along with Zad's review.

I prefer not to listen to the whole album pre-purchase, so that I have something to be excited about when the album eventually arrives.

Get excited, this is awesome. The last minute of the title track is amazing, I must listen to it again.

Haven't heard it, it's not on the myspace. But the tracks there have me well convinced.

I have now the Overdose of Death from Toxic Holocaust and it's even more old school than Warbringer or Evile. It's more like old Sodom and much Venom, Motörhead and Punk influence. Whereas TH is actually not a new Band because they are active since 1999 or so.

3 more bands to check out:

Delirium Tremens - old school german black/punky/thrash. Think Kreator meets Morbid Saint meets Venom. They have 2 albums and 1 ep.

Eliminator - fast, blackened thrash. very good. some very cool riffs to be found here.

Amok - think Anthrax meets Metallica. some cool moments here and there, nothing too amazing but still a solid but, maybe to some, forgettable listen. I think they are better than some of the other bands that have been posted, but I'll keep my mouth shut about that...

I'm glad to see so many posts on this subject. It's good to see modern thrash getting as much attention as it is fantastic

Municipal Waste is great for pre-drinking with friends before hitting the pubs. Otherwise I have really been into Avenger Of Bloods "Death Brigade" album, sounds like old-school Kreator. Awesome shit.
