Why? Ok, it's not Paul DiAnno on vocals, but the music sounds very good.

I assume it was on Maiden Heaven, the tribute album.

It's on the Limited Edition of Shogun. At least here. I don't know if it's worldwide.

I've only heard four songs that are legally available and it's decent material. I find the music entertaining, although nothing ground breaking. The singer actually got better so he's a lot more tolerable for those sensitive to that issue, so not everything is as bad as you guys say.

I understand the band doesn't appeal to everyone but saying Ascendancy is metalcore is not 100% correct.
Ascendancy and even Shogun (well so far) have much more in common with Thrash, Melo Death than with Metalcore.
Hm, Ascendancy was IMO 90% Metalcore. They even looked 100% like a Emo-Bullshit-Core Band. Crusade was 90% Thrash and Shogun is a good mix between the last two records with yes, a little bit (Melodic) Death Metal into the mix. E.G. Kirisute Gomen at 1:35 or Down From the Sky at 3:15 or Insurrection at 3:04. Funny is the bonus track Upon the Shores, where Matt comes with Chris Barnes growls. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qT0dpbBm2ho

Gross, a talentless hack imitating an even more talentless hack. The universe may implode on itself from the sheer douchebaggery.

I think you guys need to be a little bit more open-minded. Trivium are freaks on their instruments and Shogun ain't that bad too.

E.G. Down From The Sky has a very cool innovativ riff or Throes Of Perdition has a cool chorus.

Yes, the songs are very bulky, and it's hard to find a structure, but when metallica is too boring for you...

It has absolutely nothing to do with openmindedness. Now go fuck yourself, you're getting on everyone's nerves.

Yeah man. Don't always try to convince everyone that the worst bands out there are the best ones for you!

Malmsteen is a freak on his instrument, even more so, and is barely more interesting than Trivium. (I exaggerate, Malmsteen is a lot better than Trivium, but the analogy still stands.)

When e.g. Trivium is for you one of the worst Band, then you don't know what good music is.

No, exactly the opposite is true.

oh man the chorus of the first song is so great; throwing a fruity, dancy, catchy part with no transition into a thrash song is somehow awesome

Ok, the vocals can be annoying , but the music is not bad!

the more i listen to this the more i love the combination of awesome guitar playing and Backstreet Boys choruses. this is how i wish Scar Symmetry and Into Eternity would sound. also nice 7 string guitars on Throes of Perdition; gives a Nevermore vibe.

Yeah, I gotta say, if Trivium is one of your favorite bands it really shows how undiverse and uninspired the stuff you have listened to must be. I can name 10 bands that are better than trivium because it is so easy.

Liking lame, uninspired, tailor made for mainstream bands like Trivium or *cough*Disturbed*cough* does not equal being open-minded. It just means you happen to like a lame, uninspired, tailor-made for the mainstream band. That's all well and good, really it is. but stop telling me I'm close-minded because I have no use for generic Radio Rock.

k,thanx

Stupid. While I do think that most of you are too harsh on Trivium because they're popular, they're still not anything fantastic so I won't try to vehemently defend them. However, saying that they're radio rock is blatantly retarded; regardless of what you think of them, they're obviously thrash metal.
