Hey slayer have you got Sventevith? Its bya far the best bm-era Behemoth album.

It might be the untr00 side of me, but I think the bad production of that album makes it unlistenable.

hehe, you are probably right. But i find i can look past that as the songs themselves easily outdo grom and As the forests dream eternally. (Which isnt to say that i dont like those albums. I love all bm era behemoth)

Recently purchased - Xasthur - Self titled EP

Agalloch - Ashes Against the Grain : 2LP including an extra track

so far a bit "meh"... a bit too much ambient post-rock thingy for my taste, it's not that i don't like it, i just don't like it in an agalloch-context, at times those tracks just seems to be fillers.. had hoped that i would be a bit more like the old stuff, with more normal tracks like the old stuff. There's a few awsome tracks, though

but i will give it some more spins...

I just got mine yesterday. I haven't played it even though I really want to hear the new track and how the sound compares overall to the cd.

I wasn't quite as into it at first listen either, and I'm sure some people never will be. For me though, after a few spins... Oh my, it's really a gorgeous album, and I'm to the point now where I pretty much find it impossible to pick a favorite Agalloch relese.

I listened to it again today. I'm not a huge fan of the post-rock song cycle at the end of the album but the other 4 complete songs are all very good. They are never going to make another Pale Folklore and I'm fine with that now.

listened to Ashes against the grain again just now... it seemed pretty good now. It was the cd version however. I think the extra track ruins the balance - too much post-rock/ambient sheize. It seemed way better without that.. nice.

Destruction - Thrash Anthems

Venom - Resurrection

Can anyone post the correct track listing to Thrash Anthems? Mine is very screwed up. All the tracks are named wrong, and I can't seem to figure out which one is which.

Valar - Magic And Wyrmfire

what the fuck man, this shit is gay. Everytime I try to buy something out of the ordinary to give other genres a chance, this happens. Luckily it was only 9 bucks or I'd be pissed.

The music side of things isnt terrible to be honest, but the vocals.. what the hell, why are they so low in the mix? I hate it. Oh well, I'll give it some more time, I did just get home.

Maybe you should listen to it before you buy it, or read some reviews on it.

Couldnt, the store is a good distance from home and I dont get there that often, plus alot of metalheads go there, I took a chance on something hoping for it to be really cool. Since I wrote that actually Ive listened to the whole album, the intsrumental tracks are cool and the music in the other songs is pretty good, the vocals are atrocious. However I can ignore them, I dont regret buying it anymore.

Also, isnt it fun buying an album with abit of mystery, not knowing every little detail about it? Sometimes I like to do that, if I didnt I wouldnt be into Anathema right now, so sometimes it works.

Bathory-S/T :dio:

Anyone else noticed the startling similarity between Burzum's "War" and Bathory's "Necromansy"?
