:D

I don't want to pwn anybody, but it is just so, that first were doom, hardcore punk, thrash and death metal and then the second wave of BM, which was a mix of all other extreme genres before [while the first wave was something like an image and content based].

And now we debate about Style vs Music. I mean, if BM can be BM even if the lyrics are not satanic/evil content, then BM can also be BM if the music does not contain blastbeats or that special BM Riffing.

Just listen to current Darkthrone records. Is this still Black Metal? But I forgot, the thread is about Black Thrash and not Black Metal. And so, something to BT: I bought me Desasters Satans Soldiers Syndicate album and I think it's great. There is the thrash that reminds me of Sodoms Agent Orange and Persecution Mania, but there is also Black Metal where Darkthrone comes to mind. The mix of both is just neckbreaking. :D Whereas the vocal style is IMO very special, because sometimes it is not thrash or bllack at all, but Benediction like Death Metal style. E.G. the first vocals of title track.

I'd argue on the Darkthrone point - they've always had a certain style of riffs which you can trace back to Soulside. As for the rest, let's reference the Weakling debate - something can be Black Metal, but not necessarily the blackest metal. I'd call Dimmu Bore-gear's output these days sort of Black Metal, even if it's pretty damn commercialised and spiced up, just as I would, say, Khold's groove.

Don't we always argue this with you? A certain Cradle Of Filth thread comes to mind...

This even beats FrigidSymphony's Nickelback moment.

It would be the opposite debate, because instead of Slayer, they played - and play now again - BM, but everybody says they don't, because they are not trv enough or so...

BUT, we could call their style Black Thrash, because they use many thrash riffs...*LOL*

Not the biggest Black Flag fan but Venom still doesn't know how to play their instruments.

Who gives a fuck?

Either do The Misfits, but they are fucking cool as hell.
I don't care how adept a band is at their instruments, if they make enjoyable music, that is good enough for me; some of the most boringly pretentious yawn-fests are by bands with good musicians in them.

Actually I like a little Black Flag, I'm just giving it backatcha.

To clarify "by play their instruments", I guess I meant something like "write good music" which they don't.

I concede.

Edit: Now that I'm listening to Venom again. Wow is this some shit music. I must be doing it wrong. Maybe live this would be interesting but on the album it's just uninteresting instruments > weak vocals > boring solo/breakdown-like moment > back to weak vocals singing super-evil lyrics about hell and reapers > growl. Even if iwabo can't write a cohesive song to save their lives the fourteen segments they sew together are a hellalot more fun than this.

Note the "?" at the end... basic english, my man.
Or do you question their ability to create "good" music, too?

edit:

haha, now I look like a buffoon... I read "concede" as "concur"...

Doh!
