Back to the thread topic, I think Come Clarity blows away Sountrack To Your Escape. Its up there with Clayman. Of course, this is my opinion (which can't be wrong because its an OPINION). Your opinion may differ, but if you want to show your age and try to tell me that mine is wrong, then go ahead.

Dearie, age-related insults are so last summer.

It's obvious that Eyesore and myself have worked out the problems, so... no reason to refer to those events that would rise beyond petty insult-mongering.

Cheerio, and enjoy Come Clarity!

LOL, yes, maybe so. I was just messing with you guys anyway! ;)

Dead Machine, I know you have worked things out. I was just disappointed to see mostly bickering when I wanted to read more about other people's impessions of the album. Anyway, you have all made your opinions very clear. Its nice to see varying opinions and the different reasoning behind them.

This album is no Jester Race, and In Flames will never do another one like it, But it has its shining moments so give it a shot.

So is there any truth to the creative confrontations between Jesper and Frieden? If Frieden has been the creative force behind the last 3 "albums", and I was Jesper, I'd pull a Tarja on Anders...and soon.

Really? I'd just shoot him. In the mouth.

Your way is cleaner, though: no fake suicide setup.

OMFG!! WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT!?

Great Ceaser's cocksuckin' Ghost! THIS is a "return to roots"? I swear to Christ if I hear another band who sucks dick and claims another "return to old", I'm going to pull my fingernails off with pliers!

This album is a fucking disgrace. Plain and simple. The entire genre they spearheaded has been puked and shitted on by fucktard "core"-bands like Trivium, Avenged 7fold, Chimaira, Lamb of God, God Forbid, the list goes on and fucking on. Now the mallcore dwellers have another kewl n'Flamez album to cum to. I can't believe, after listening to "Come Clarity", "Leeches" and "Crawl Through Knives" that this is the same man who fucking ripped it up on "Jester Race" and "Whoracle" He sounds like a screamo Jonathon Davis. Seriously, its like his vox are an all-encompassing trend. He accomodates for every mallcore fan's wet dream by screamo-ing "agressive", singing cleanly, or pseudo-growling to sound evil and badass. The guitars are flat, muzzled trash. Who mixes this sound? Terry Schiavo? Jesus christ in heaven I can't believe this shit. I have to mention that I listened to old In Flames only when I list them as a favorite out of fear of being laughed at. From this day forward, I wish bus crashes and hotel room overdoses on N*Flamez or any other Metalcore band that tries to play metal. No Regrets.

I detect an industrial influence, not just from the fact it is ridiculously over-produced.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Pure gold!

Yeah, those bands you mentioned suck the bleach out of Michael Jackson's ass. Not even the time for a sigh of relief because the (c)rapcore trend had finally died down, and already we're assaulted by the NWOPAST (New Wave Of Pseudo-Aggressive Screamo Teens).

Someone had to go on a rant. I'm fucking sick of hearing "return to roots" when this CD is far from it. It's nothing more than a fucking lie, plain and simple. Just like Metallica, Machine Head, etc. I will gladly listen to other bands, but when bands who have classic catalog albums like those mentioned flat-out lie to people, it really gets under my skin.

You keep saying this return to roots thing, quote somewhere where In Flames say this? Is this album like Reroute To Remain? No. Is it like Soundtrack To Your Escape? No. Is it like Clayman? Yep. Quite. Not their roots, but a return to a heavier style.

Metallica will never return to their roots, they'll just dye them. And Machine Head sure as fuck went back to their roots! Don't even fucking dispute that one.

I remember reading one of the members say Come Clarity was sort of a blend of the old with the new

It is, except for the title track.

Machine Head went back to their roots.

Problem is that their roots are now all dead and dried out; they haven't yet waited for anything wild.
