Not very impressive, the cover for souls of deny was waaaaaaay better.

Yep! That 'M' in the middle reminds me of the shitty logo by Slipknot.

The logo and the font color stand out too much. It should be a little more subdued and dirty.

I like it. It's SUFFOCATION, and it's s/t. There's far more at stake here than the cover art, personally I'd have done a plain black one. That circle logo thing is cool.

I like this cover. It gives a feeling of emptiness, it's a bit out of this world. I don't see any M, I don't know how Slipknot logo looks like and I don't want to know. Who cares about that?

I would have liked it better without those demons or whatever they are, just the dead bodies/skeletons.

This one is def weaker from the typical "overload of art" they normally give. It does seem a bit Black metalish. I hear this is a Quality Death Metal band, but i have only heard one album. You rarely come across a bad death review for this band. I know that have also been around since the evolution of "death metal" so assuming much of the members are original the songwriting should be stellar on this album.
What range to they fall between say Morbid Angel sounding or Immolation sounding?

They sound much similar to Immolation, although i find them to be more technical and faster at times.
Immolation are really good, but IMO Suffocation are better.
If you are you new to them, you should first listen to Effigy of The Forgotten then Pierced From Within and finally Souls To Deny. At last check out their worst album by far Breeding The Spawn (horrible production ruins this) but the title track owns.

Effigy of the Forgotten is definitely my favorite, but has anyone heard the new song from S/T album? It's on their "Myspace" page. From what I remember, it sounds somewhat melodic to start out, yes I said melodic, but then it's back to their badass grind shit. Check it out.
