Darkane

With the release of the new Darkane album Layers of Lies,
I'm curious about knowing which Darkane album people prefer.

My favorite Darkane album is definately Rusted Angel. It's the most rawest and the vocals are psychotic compared to the ones heard on Expanding Senses and Layers of Lies. When I first heard Rusted Angel it hit me like a ton of bricks. It is harsh and brutal but at the same time they insert melodic parts without making their music sound wussy. I've got to mention though, i'm not much into the Extreme Metal genre and this is probably the closest i'll ever get. So the use of the words "Brutal" and "harsh" probably doesn't have the same significence for the Extreme Metal crowd, but for Melodeath it's brutal.

I like Expanding Senses best, but that's entirely because of the lyrics themselves. Musically speaking, Rusted Angel is their best.

Layers of Lies is an album I really want to delve into soon. I bought it recently but haven't had the time to sit the fuck down and listen. I love Darkane, and I may very well enjoy Rusted Angel and Expanding Senses the same for the different things they offer. Haven't really listened in a while though.

Rusted Angel by far. I'll just go ahead and quote Jay from his reveiw:
"Darkane will be remembered forever for this disc."

Right on! This is one hell of a ride, one of the best albums I have ever heard. Expanding Senses and Insanity sound so bland and hollow in comparison. I like Layer of Lies more than those two but it comes no way near to how I feel about Rusted Angel.

I LOVE Rusted Angel, but I think in the long run I listened to Expanding Senses more. Layers is sick too!

Man, I just listened to Rusted Angel again this evening and it is quite possibly one of the best albums ever made. Frenetic Visions is magical, what a fucking awesome song, among the superb album this one stands highest.

I'm the only one that like Insanity best?? Crazy! I have yet to buy Layer Of Lies, so can't comment on that one.

Layers of Lies fucking owns. Better than Expanding Senses if you ask me.
