Also they're going on tour with Converge. Pretty ridiculous.

Brooklyn vegan does a lot of cool band scoops like Trap Them and what not.

I didn't read that they were going on tour with Converge but instead Withered which is almost but not nearly as awesome.

I'll accept that it is not really "black metal" but it is amazing.

After letting this sink in I must say it doesn't disappoint. I like the new direction they have gone in though it was a bit hard to get used to at first.

Describe what new direction you think that they have taken.

Well you rarely hear any weakling influences now. There are some sections of some songs, but for the most part it sounds quite different. Its hard to explain xD. Then there is obviously the new approach to the vocals and the slicker production. I would say there is also a bigger focus on experimentation and it just has this heavier vibe in general.

Why, do you feel it was just more of the same?

I haven't nearly given it enough listens but I didn't think it was that radical of a shift.

Well it's still Krallice. If, say, someone didn't like their self titled or Dimensional Bleedthrough then I doubt this one would be different enough to change their mind. But for me anyways it took a few spins to get used to all the new details. I think its probably mostly just the heavier focus on deathish growls more than anything.

I hate the production of Litany of Regrets. Their seems like this weird choppiness and it drives me nuts. The vocals never seem out of the ordinary for me. They are different but still very Krallice I guess. As a whole the album is probably heavier but certain tracks had similar vibe so it doesn't catch me off guard. I don't see it as much of a difference than their earlier work and I don't have a problem with that.

Agreed about Litany of Regrets. Its literally annoying to listen to because of the choppiness. Also the song isn't especially interesting anyways, thats the only song on the album that isn't amazing though.
